First Wembley Stadium, Then The Big Screen: All 5 Spice Girls Are Set To Star In A New Film

Dust off your Union Jack platforms. All five members of the Spice Girls are currently working together on a major film, The Hollywood Reporter has just confirmed. Overseen by the celebrated female-led team at Paramount Animation, the movie will feature many of the band's classic hits. "[The Spice Girls] had an idea that we've been developing," president Mireille Soria teased of the project. "They are very involved." While there's no word yet on the title, it's due to hit cinemas in 2020. The iconic 1990s band's only previous film, Spice World, has earned cult status and brought in more than $100 million globally. The news comes in the middle of the Spice Girls's sold-out reunion tour, featuring Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton, Melanie Chisholm, and Geri Halliwell – with Victoria Beckham absent in order to focus on growing her fashion empire. Starting tomorrow, the girls will take over London's Wembley Stadium for three nights, performing 'Wannabe', 'Spice Up Your Life', 'Stop', and more. "This band, the Spice Girls, belongs to everyone," the group tells Vogue of their comeback. "Not just five girls, it belongs to eight billion people, and everyone is welcome. At the start of our show our screens say, 'We welcome all ages, all races, all gender identities, all countries of origin, all sexual orientations, all religions and beliefs, and all abilities.' That is the message of the band and what we represent. We love you all!" See below for exclusive photographs from behind the scenes of the Spice World 2019 tour.
