Prince George turns 5 years old on July 22. And to celebrate, Kensington Palace released a new official portrait of the little royal.

It shows George leaning against a brick wall, arms behind his back, with an ear-to-ear smile on his face. The photograph was taken by Matt Porteous, who also took the joyful picture of Kate Middleton and Prince Louis at Louis’s christening earlier this month.

George appears to be wearing the the same white collared shirt with blue trim that he wore to brother’s ceremony, so it’s assumed this portrait was taken the same day.

“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to share a new photograph of Prince George to mark his fifth birthday—thank you everyone for your lovely messages,” Kensington Palace wrote, adding a balloon emoji.

The Cambridges have released a new photo for George’s birthday every year. Last year showed him in a blue and white button-down, grinning against a gray background. It was taken by the noted royal photographer for Getty Images, Chris Jackson. The year before showed the prince playing outside at Anmer Hall, Prince William and Kate Middleton’s country home in Norfolk. That photo was also shot by Porteous.

The Cambridges are said to be privately celebrating their eldest son’s birthday on the Caribbean island of Mustique.
