1. Merry Christmas (January 12)

‘Tis the season to blur some boundaries with this multi-lingual thriller starring Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi. To ensure that its Tamil counterpart did not look like a dubbed film, director Sriram Raghavan has reportedly cast different supporting actors altogether from the Hindi version. The movie follows the story of two strangers who cross paths on Christmas Eve, but their night of whirlwind romance soon unfolds into a nightmare.

2. Fighter (January 25)

After Pathaan (2023), Deepika Padukone is set to flex her action chops again in this thriller alongside Hrithik Roshan—who will be reuniting with Siddharth Anand again after their last successful outing, War (2019)—against the backdrop of fighter jets as two IAF aviators come together to battle their demons, both internal and external.

3. Kalki 2898 AD (January 2024)

Perched on a budget of 600 crores, this sci-fi flick is likely the most expensive Indian movie ever made—and it has the firepower to back that up, with a marquee cast headlined by Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Kamal Haasan. The futuristic movie is centered around a modern-day incarnation of the Hindu god, Vishnu, who descends upon earth to battle evil.

4. Yodha (March 15)

After Shershaah (2021), Sidharth Malhotra is poised to channel his inner patriot again in the form of a soldier dispatched to rescue hostages from a hijacked plane and devise a survival plan after the engine fails.

It’s not every day that you see three generations of Bollywood actresses coming together, but this Rhea Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor directorial promises to deliver with an ensemble cast featuring Tabu, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Kriti Sanon as a series of hustlers attempting to make inroads into the aviation industry.

Metro… In Dino (March 29)

Drawing inspiration from its namesake song, ‘In Dino’ from Life in a… Metro (2007), this Anurag Basu anthology is said to showcase bittersweet tales of human relationships in the contemporary setting of a metropolitan city with Aditya Roy Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh and others.

Ae Watan Mere Watan (to be announced)

Produced by Dharma Productions, this period film starring Sara Ali Khan follows the intrepid journey of Usha Mehta, a college student from Mumbai who goes on to become a freedom fighter. The recipient of the Padma Vibhushan in 1998, the late Mehta became renowned for her role in organising radio broadcasting during the Quit India Movement.

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (April 10)

After teaming up with Hrithik Roshan in War (2019), Tiger Shroff is looking to cast the same magic again—this time, opposite Akshay Kumar as the titular ‘bade miyan’ with their contrasting personalities and methods pitted against each other. Joining them for the madcap ride will be Manushi Chillar and Alaya F.

Mr and Mrs Mahi (April 19)

You know the man, you know the legend. Now, it’s time to see him from an entirely new perspective through the lens of one of his most profound relationships, with Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor essaying the lead roles.

Singham Again (August 15)

The testosterone-fuelled universe of Singham is set to meet its match as Deepika Padukone dons the khaki uniform. The gun-toting star is rumoured to be cast as Ajay Devgn’s sister and will be joined by husband Ranveer Singh and Kareena Kapoor Khan.

Stree 2 (August 30)

After changing the town of Chanderi’s tune from ‘O stree, kal aana’ to ‘O stree, raksha karna’, the entreaty will be put to the test as terror grips the residents again. Set six years after the prequel, the movie will witness the return of its principal cast including Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor and others.

Jigra (September 27)

Alia Bhatt’s decades-long association with Karan Johar is going to be cemented further as the duo take on the role of co-producers for this thriller reportedly centred around a prison break. “From debuting in a Dharma production to now producing a film with them, in many ways, it feels like coming full circle from where I started,” the actor shared in an Instagram post.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 (Diwali 2024)

Mark your calendars for another spooky date with Rooh Baba (played by Kartik Aaryan), who is set to propel the horror franchise forward in the abandoned hallways of the Bhawanigarh mansion one more time.

Counted among the longest-running comedy franchises in India, the fifth instalment of Housefull 5 continues to be spearheaded by the comedic genius of Akshay Kumar. While he remained tight-lipped about the rest of the cast, fans will be delighted to see the return of Riteish Deshmukh.

Welcome to the Jungle (December 20)

With an ensemble cast featuring more names than you can count on one hand—Akshay Kumar, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sanjay Dutt, Paresh Rawal, Bobby Deol, Suniel Shetty, Arshad Warsi, Lara Dutta and Raveena Tandon—the first look of the ensemble comedy was released in the form of an acapella performance.
