The relationship between Princess Diana and Prince Charles has long been an obsession for the world, and who will forever be interested in the royal business of one of Britain's most high-profile celebrity couples.

From their 1981 wedding, which broke records on every level and their subsequent divorce in 1996, to Diana's untimely death a year later, our love of all things royal reached new heights during Diana's lifetime.

Now, the Feud television series is set to dissect the relationship between Diana and Charles, in a royal-centred episode which will likely have us all hooked.

Aptly named Feud: Charles and Diana, the episode was conceptualised by Ryan Murphy and Jon Robin Baitz (of the America Horror Story franchise) and will air on US cable channel FX as part of a longer running Feud series.

With so many options and such big shoes to fill, the character of Diana is indeed a highly coveted role, and with rumours circulating it's hard to be sure, but word on the street is Sarah Paulson.

However, Paulson told Entertainment Tonight earlier this month she'd rather play the Queen Mother, so at the moment anything goes.

Stay tuned.
