TONIGHT:

Highs on Thursday made it up to the mid to upper 60s. The storm threat should clear out between 10-11pm tonight and the skies will slowly clear overnight. Expect the winds to come in out of the southwest before transitioning to the northwest late behind the front. Rain will be moving out by Midnight tonight as the brisk northwest winds move in.

FRIDAY:

The showers and storms on Thursday should move out before we start our day on Friday. The clouds will stick around in the morning before clearing out as the day goes on. Highs on Friday will be a little cooler behind the front and will reach up to the upper 50s to near 60° though still. Friday night lows will fall down to around 40°. The winds Friday will come out  the northwest and be a tad breezy in the afternoon.

THE WEEKEND:

Another front is going to drift through on Saturday but as of now, it looks like it is going to be a dry front but will keep the first half of the weekend a bit chilly. The winds are forecast to stay out of the northwest on Saturday and shift to the southwest on Sunday. That will start to warm things up again late this weekend. Highs on Saturday are forecast in the mid 50s with upper 60s to near 70° expected for our Sunday. We will likely see a a mix of sun and clouds this weekend with possibly a few more clouds on Sunday. Saturday night will drop to the mid 30s if the skies are clear and Sunday night lows will dip into the low 50s to start the following work week. As of now, rain showers are not in the forecast this weekend.

NEXT WEEK:

The greatest storm threat in several months looks to be on the way next week. We are likely going to start off next week above 70s for both Monday and Tuesday. The humidity will also be increasing late Monday into the day on Tuesday and that could help set the stage for a a few rounds of thunderstorms in the middle of next week. This could be our first shot at some significant severe weather so far this season.

No description available.

The system is still almost a week out and the forecast will likely change but we should have a better idea what to expect and when by the upcoming weekend. The winds will come out of the south and southwest for the first half of the week and we should see mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies to kick off next week as well. Rain showers or weak storms cannot be ruled out on Monday and chances increase starting Tuesday night. The main event for us in West Tennessee is going to be here on Wednesday.

FINAL THOUGHT:

Long term forecast models are suggesting a warm finish to the month of February and a warm start to March. Spring is about 4 weeks away and starts on March 19th this year. As the warmer weather moves in, we might be transitioning to more of a severe weather threat than a cold and snowy one for the last month of Winter. The next chance for storms is coming in on Thursday this week, but the following weekend is looking pretty nice though.
