Observation setup offers a unique glimpse at honey bees

JACKSON, Tenn.—One local farm gives visitors an “un-BEE-lievable” opportunity to get up close and personal with some interesting insects.

Residents could visit and observe honey bees this morning in Jackson.

A live observation was set up between the West TN Farmers Market and the Amp downtown.

The hive, provided by Three Oaks Farm, was available to observe from 8 this morning until noon.

And while the honey bees couldn’t get out, the display allowed for a closer look at the species in their natural state.

The unique set up is a great way to educate the public about the bees and their importance to the environment.

“They can come in, they can see the work, they can see the developing honey, raising the brood, and just basically working through the hives,” said David Vince, Three Oaks Farm.

Three Oaks Farm asks that residents be kind to bees and always contact a local professional for proper bee removal.
