Lightning strike suspected cause of Jackson home fire

JACKSON, Tenn. — Tragedy strikes a Hub City home.

According to the Jackson Fire Department, it’s suspected that a lightning strike from Friday morning’s storms caused a house fire.

The department says firefighters were dispatched to 25 Boyd Drive shortly after 6 a.m.

According to the department, they arrived on scene to find smoke and flames coming from the home’s roof.

Crews worked to extinguish the fire, however the department confirms the house is a total loss.

The Fire Department says the cause has not been officially determined at this time, and no injuries were reported.
