The weather has been really nice again today across West Tennessee. Highs are around 90°, but it is not overly humid. Each day over the next 5, it is going to hotter than the previous day and each day is going to be a little bit more humid. Highs will reach the mid to upper 90s this weekend, but the humidity isn’t likely to play a big factor until early next week. Catch the latest on the heat and I will let you know when the showers and storms will be returning to the Mid South, all coming up right here.

TONIGHT:

Thursday was another great day for all of West Tennessee. Skies were sunny and there was only be a few clouds into the afternoon. The winds were very light out of the northwest as well and that kept the humidity down all day long. Highs reached up to around 90° and Thursday night lows will fall to the upper 60s. Rain is not in the forecast on Thursday night.

FRIDAY:

The great weather will continue on Friday for the entire Mid South. Highs on Friday will be a bit warm and reach the low 90s but the humidity is not expected to play a big role as the winds are still forecast to come out of the northeast on Friday. Friday night lows will drop down to around 70° to start out West Tennessee weekend. Rain is not in the forecast on Friday and skies are expected to be mostly sunny all afternoon long.

THE WEEKEND:

The nice and pleasant weather looks to be sticking around all weekend long for us here in West Tennessee. Highs will start to warm up a bit and the humidity will increasing as well towards the back half of the weekend. Highs are forecast to reach the mid 90s. The heat index on Saturday will be close to 100° and Sunday could reach as high as 105°. Another heat advisory could be issued this weekend but will be more likely early next week.

The winds will come out of the west on Saturday but return back to the south on Sunday. Skies will be mostly sunny this weekend although there will some clouds popping up at times. Rain is currently not in the forecast this weekend, if we did see a shower chance, as of now Sunday seems more likely than Saturday due to the southerly winds.

NEXT WEEK:

The start of next week is going to be a hot one across the Mid South. Highs will be in the upper 90s and the humidity will start to play a factor on Monday. The feels like temperatures could reach as high as 105° on Monday and be even higher on Tuesday. Skies will be mostly sunny to kick off the week and the winds will come out of the southwest. Rain showers and maybe some storms will try to mix in during the middle of the week. Overnight lows will be in the low to mid 70s all week long as well.

FINAL THOUGHT:

The 2024 tropical season has started early and got off to a bang with Beryl. Not only was Beryl the earliest major hurricane on record in the Atlantic Basin, it was also the earliest to become a category 5 storms too. Beryl nailed the southern Caribbean before making landfall again in south Texas. The storm brought tornadoes to East Texas on Monday and brought severe weather across a large section of the county this week.  After Beryl moved out, we could be looking at an extended dry period in West Tennessee, so the rain we saw from the tropical system might wasn’t a bad thing. The heat is also going to become an issue again this weekend and will likely continue into next week.
