Potholes across the Hub City continue to affect its residents

JACKSON, Tenn. — Potholes have been a big topic of discussion in the West Tennessee area. While efforts are being made, citizens are still dealing with several potholes in the community.

Some major areas that potholes have been spotted are on North Royal Street and on Vann drive.

Cars were even spotted slowly driving over some potholes to prevent damage to their car.

We spoke to some residents of the community that stated that even though they know that the city is working on the streets, that they are, “Bad, bad, bad!”

If a pothole is on the road in city limits, you can call 3-1-1 from a mobile phone to report it.

The city also has “Ready 311”, an app which allows you to submit non-emergency claims such as code violations, traffic signals, issues in a park and potholes.

Simply download the app, and enable your GPS.

After filling out your personal information, you can submit your ticket using a video or photo of the pothole.

According to the City of Jackson’s report chart on their website, one third of residents in the community report problems with potholes.

We spoke to a representative from Auto Zone who said there’s no way to prevent pothole damage, but that she would recommend that you drive slowly, and if you do hit a pothole, get out and inspect your car if you are able to.

The 3-1-1 mobile app is available for download on iPhone and android devices.
