One car show raises money in support of local youth

JACKSON, Tenn.—One organization is revving up to raise money for a local sports club.

‘Cars for a Cause’ was held today in Jackson.

The event took place from 10 this morning until 2 this afternoon at 200 Church Street.

The event, hosted by Jackson Equity Project, hosted many different vehicles from classic, antique, and even souped-up modern sports cars.

The show offered a fun filled event the entire family could enjoy.

Awards were presented to the Top 20 vehicles participating in the show.

Registration for the event was $25 and all proceeds went to support the Jackson Boxing Club.

The boxing club offers an encouraging and positive environment for local youth.

“The Jackson Equity Project supports the local boxing club, with Obie Beard running that for us and so, it takes funds to do that. We realized we need some kind of way to raise funds in the Jackson community to support it,” said Margaret Taylor, Vice President of Jackson Equity Project.

This is the first year this event has taken place.
