One local market encourages aspiring business owners

JACKSON, Tenn.—A unique market is held in downtown Jackson.

It was not your average run of the mill market held in Jackson this morning.

The Young Entrepreneur’s Market was held at 202 West Lafayette Street from 9 this morning until noon.

The event allowed for aspiring business owners to try their hand out running one. The market was open to youth under 18-years-old and offered participants the opportunity to explore their business know-how and work to develop skills for the future.

The market featured several items including baked goods, jewelry, handmade items and more.

The function offered a fun experience for both participants and those who shopped the event.

The event was organized by the businesses located in The LOCAL, including Grinning Soul Crochet, Burn Your Truth, and Sprinkle Me Sugar, who also provided the space.

“I’m just excited to have this event at The LOCAL, I’m hoping it will really bring some people out and get people familiar with the young entrepreneurs, because you know when our time passes, they’ll be next in line,” said Ariana Hargrove, owner Burn Your Truth.

Organizers say they do plan to make this an annual event.
