Free school supply giveaways to be held in Jackson

JACKSON, Tenn. — Local students will have a variety of opportunities to receive free school supplies in the Hub City.

On Saturday, July 20, ROTO Nation will hold a Back to School bash featuring food, fun and free backpacks. It will be held from 12:30-2:30 p.m. at 200 B Stonebridge Boulevard in Jackson.

On Friday, July 26, the Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department and Jackson-Madison Prevention Coalition will hold a Back to School Bash at 804 North Parkway. From 5-6:30 p.m., visitors will be treated to a community cookout and free school supplies while supplies last.

On Saturday, July 27, Empowerment Community Church will hold a Back to School Giveaway beginning at 1 p.m. at 455 East Main Street. The church will offer free backpacks stuffed with school supplies, as well as free shoes in various sizes.

Also on July 27, the Theta Iota Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and the Jackson-Madison County School System will hold a Community Cookout and Back to School Supply Giveaway from 12-2 p.m. The event will take place at 340 North Hayes Avenue, featuring free food and school supplies while supplies last, along with a game truck, face painting, balloon animals and more.
