South Gibson Football preview

South Gibson Hornets football team  are getting prepared for the 2024 season.

We take things to Medina. As the South Gibson Hornets football team  are getting prepared for the 2024 season.
Last year they were 4-1 in the region and had an overall record of 8-3.They lost the first two of three games but then went on to win seven straight.
They made it to the first round of the class 4a state playoffs and would lose
A tight one to station camp with a final of 24 to 20. However, it should be noted that the Hornets battled adversity early on losing their starting
Quarterback and later in the season losing more key pieces to their offense. But, each week the most impressive thing about their team was the ability to adjust
And rise to the moment. We caught up with head coach Ben Johnson and he talked about how there is plenty of opportunity for players  to step up and some of the things
They have been working on.

“Were excited we got a lot of young kids that have a lot of opportunities to get a lot of playing time this year graduated a big class last year very successful class so we had 23 seniors last year
We got 12 right now this year so that’s a lot of opportunity for guys to step in and take over roles but are kids are excited their ready to get going. In any program I think you have to constantly be working on skill development  and skill acquisition so its something that’s a year round approach
For us as it gets closer to the season, schematics become much more important getting guys in
The right position to help us make plays.”

They kick the season off on  Thursday August 22nd at
7:00 pm at home hosting Milan.
