Two men face child rape charges in Hardin County

HARDIN COUNTY, Tenn. — Two men are facing child rape charges in two separate cases.

We spoke to Hardin County Sheriff, Johnny Alexander, who confirmed that there are two men charged in two separate cases of rape of a child.

According to Sheriff Alexander, 18-year-old Chance Foster was charged with one count of rape of a child.

Alexander told us that Foster’s incident occurred in June 2023.

Sheriff Alexander told us that Foster initially went through juvenile court as he was 17 at the time of the incident.

Now that Foster has turned 18, the sheriff says he has been reindicted.

Foster was booked into the Hardin County Correctional Center on July 18.

Sheriff Alexander also confirmed that 22-year-old Rannon Baggett was arrested on July 19 on one count of rape of a child.

According to the sheriff, law enforcement received multiple tips regarding Bagget on July 18th.

The sheriff confirmed Baggett was arrested the next day.

Alexander told us that Baggett had his first court appearance Tuesday in Hardin County General Sessions Court.

In the state of Tennessee, the charge of rape of a child typically involves a victim between the ages of 8 and 13.
