Court date moved for former youth pastor accused of rape

JACKSON, Tenn. — In our continuing coverage, a former youth pastor at a church in Jackson was supposed to appear in court Wednesday.

Ryan Kelley McElrath is facing charges from an alleged incident on May 31, where he is accused of engaging in sexual contact with a 17-year-old at Fellowship Bible Church.

According to court records, McElrath is currently in custody at the Shelby County Corrections Center, where he was booked on June 21.

McElrath didn’t appear Wednesday, his next court date in Jackson City Court is set for September 11, at 1:30 p.m.
