Make lifelong memories with International Cultural Exchange Services

JACKSON, Tenn. — One organization hopes to increase international awareness in a special way.

International Cultural Exchange Services is a non-profit that brings high school foreign exchange students from around the world to the United States.

The program is a chance for young people to to experience another culture, meet new friends and improve language skills.

Local hosts have the joy of expanding their knowledge of other cultures and having discussions about different cultures, foods, religions and ways of living.

The students become a member of the family, go to school, join clubs, and more.

“They find the neatest things amazing that we take for granted everyday. I mean, free refills, Halloween, thanksgiving, school spirit and going to a high school football game,” said Gretchen Mitchell, district representative of ICES.

Hosting a student is the chance to make memories that’ll last a lifetime.
