Jackie Little Attaway

Jackie Little Attaway, 82, of Jackson, Tennessee, passed away at his home on August 2, 2024.

Jackie was born on August 5, 1941, in Luray, Tennessee to Elbert Lawrence Attaway and Martha Irene Little and spent his life dedicated to his family, community, and country.

Jackie was an active member of Beech Bluff Baptist Church for over 45 years, serving as a deacon. His strong devotion to his faith and church family showed in all aspects of his life.

Jackie had a love for sports of all kinds, with a particular interest for golf. He enjoyed traveling to Little Rock, AR to play golf with his military friends. He was a longtime baseball coach for the Madison County Dixie Youth League, where he impacted the lives of young athletes. His dedication to the sport and his players was evident in the many hours he spent on the field, mentoring and guiding them.

Jackie proudly served the Tennessee Army National Guard, HHC 30th Separate Armed Brigade as a technician, retiring as a Sergeant First Class after over 35 years of service. After retiring from the National Guard, he ventured into a small lawn mowing service and later enjoyed delivering and driving cars for Robinson Toyota, where he made many friends along the way.

He was known for his love of wearing hats, a small but distinctive detail that those who knew him will always remember. However, his greatest love was his family. He cherished every moment spent with his wife of 64 years, Sandra, and took immense pride in caring for her and their family. Jackie’s love and devotion to his family were unmatched, and his legacy will live on through them.
