Monday evening auditions were held for Phoenix 23’s benefit show, which will be held November 8th and 9th.
Phoenix 23 is an ASL performance troupe.
The benefit show will help raise money and awareness for the deaf community in Jackson.
“It’s going to be really awesome, we try to make it as extravagant and realistic as possible,” shared Kara McKee, program manager and creative director of Phoenix 23.
Organizers say those auditioning Monday night had full creative freedom over their piece, and they have big plans for the performance.
“The show itself is about the stages of grief, so in previous years we would normally do individual songs with individual stories. This year is different, it’s a through thread story,” explained Kennedy Moore, director of Phoenix 23.
