Rotary speaker discusses 2025 State Games of TN, more during club meeting

JACKSON, Tenn. — The Jackson-Old Hickory Rotary Club held a meeting Monday at the Doubletree Hotel.

The meeting featured a special program by the Greater Jackson Chamber.

Speaker Lindsay Dawkins, chief of staff for the Greater Jackson Chamber, spoke on community and economic development throughout the greater Jackson area.

Dawkins specifically shared about the State Games of Tennessee coming in June of 2025.

Jackson is set to be the host city of this multi-event festival that’s modeled after the Olympic games.

The games will bring people from across the state to compete in a variety of sports for youth and adults.

“Some of the sports that we’ll have–we’ll have baseball, softball, basketball. We’ll have ultimate, we’ll do some ultimate frisbee, we’ll do disc golf. Anything from, you know, your recreational sports like corn hole to your team sports such as like soccer and basketball too,” said Ryan Blake, tournament director for West Tennessee Healthcare Sportsplex.

The state games will be an opportunity for Jackson to rally behind a community event.
