Jackson police provide details on fatal crash that took place Sunday

PRESS RELEASE FROM THE JACKSON POLICE DEPARTMENT

JACKSON, Tenn. — On Sunday 8/04/24 at 7:00 p.m., officers of the Jackson Police Department responded to a crash on Windy City Road at the intersection of McClellan Road. When officers  arrived on scene, officers located two vehicles southwest of the intersection.

One vehicle was found to have three occupants of which two of the occupants were pronounced deceased at the scene by medical personnel. The other occupant was flown to Regional One in Memphis and is in stable condition. The other vehicle was found with one occupant, the driver of the vehicle. Emergency Medical Services transported this individual to Jackson Madison County General Hospital for treatment.  

Preliminary investigations suggest that the disobeying of a traffic control device and the failure of wearing safety belts as contributing factors to injuries. The investigation is ongoing and no other details will be released at this time. Once the investigation is complete, the facts will be presented to the District Attorney’s office.  

This is a tragic reminder of the importance of using your safety belts and obeying all traffic control devices. The Jackson Police Department would like to extend our heartfelt condolences and prayers to the families of the deceased individuals.
