Milan Elementary hosts back-to-school giveaway event

MILAN, Tenn. — A back-to-school giveaway event was held Tuesday at Milan Elementary School.

Sunland Logistics hosted the giveaway as a heartfelt initiative by team members to support the local community.

They aimed to highlight the importance of community support in preparing students for a successful school year.

Sunland got the school supply list for all grades, which included various supplies such as notebooks, crayons, markers, folders, headphones and more.

Sunland also donated cleaning supplies for teachers.

“We want to continue this partnership with Milan Elementary throughout the school year and–so if there’s ever a need for anything else, any more school supplies or anything else that they need, we are committed to providing for this school,” said Susie Benavidez, human resources manager for Sunland Logistics.

Sunland Logistics has been in Milan for three years and plans on doing more community events going forward.
