Jackson-Madison County Airport Authority holds monthly meeting

JACKSON, Tenn. — The Jackson-Madison County Airport Authority held their monthly meeting Monday evening.

Some of the major topics discussed at the meeting were the fiscal year budget as well as a review of the monthly budget for July.

Another was the announcement of completion of phase one of the runway renovations.

They will now be heading into phase 2.

The airport also approved a motion to begin searching for new names for the airport as a means of re-branding.

Airport Director Steve Smith mentioned during the meeting, right now, the name “Jackson-West Tennessee Regional Airport” seems to be at the top of the list.

However, at this time the challenge is finding a new name that is not under current domain.
