GCSO: Body of 25-year-old from Morristown recovered out of Grainger County lake Tuesday evening

The Grainger County Sheriff's Office said Bryson Patrick Harrell, 25, was swimming in Cherokee Lake at the Olen Marshall Bridge Access Area.

GRAINGER COUNTY, Tenn. — The Grainger County Sheriff's Office said the body of a 25-year-old was recovered from a lake Tuesday evening.

The sheriff's office said Bryson Patrick Harrell, from Morristown, was swimming with family members near the Olen Marshall Bridge Access Area of Cherokee Lake Tuesday when he went under the water. The sheriff's office said people nearby could not help him.

Authorities said calls for help came in at around 8:10 p.m. and Harrell's body was recovered by 8:40 p.m.

The Grainger's County Sheriff's Office said several agencies helped recover the body of the 25-year-old, including the Bean Station Police Department, the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency and the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
