Tennessee Baseball reels in highly-touted Louisville transfer Gavin Kilen

The infielder hit .339 with 10 home runs and 44 RBIs as a sophomore for the Cardinals this season.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee Baseball has made a big splash in the transfer portal with the addition of highly-touted Louisville middle infielder Gavin Kilen. He made the announcement on Instagram.

The All-ACC selection started all 56 of Louisville's games in 2024 and made 54 starts at shortstop. He finished his sophomore campaign hitting .339 with 76 hits, 10 home runs and 44 RBIs.

Kilen hit for the cycle on March 16, 2024, in a loss against Virginia Tech.

In his freshman season in 2023, Kilen played 46 games with 38 starts. He played both second base and shortstop and tallied 40 hits and 18 RBIs with a .265 batting average.

The Milton, Wisconsin, native was named a third-team All-ACC selection in 2024 and has been ranked as one of the best players in the transfer portal.
