Tennessee's Christian Coleman, Team USA advances to 4x100m relay finals in Paris Olympics

Coleman, Team USA, came in first place in the first round with a 37.47 time.

PARIS, France — Christian Coleman is making his rounds as he advances to the men's 4x100m relay finals on Friday. Team USA came in first place, and completed the first round with a 37.47 time.

Team USA included Coleman, Fred Kerley, Kyree King and Courtney Lindsey. 

This is Coleman's second Olympic appearance on Team USA's 4x100 relay squad. According to Tennessee Athletics, the Georgia-born junior is known for being the fastest man in NCAA history. 

Before he came to Tennessee, Coleman won the 100m, 200m, and long jump, anchoring his 4x100m team to victory at the state championship. Mercy Track also named an award in his honor following his senior year called The Christian Coleman Champions Award.

Coleman is scheduled to compete in the finals on Friday at 1:45 p.m. EST.
