Heavy Rainfall Threat Across The Southeastern U.S.

The remnants of Francine will continue to produce widespread moderate to heavy rain from Tennessee into the Southeast Friday. Multiple rounds of heavy rainfall and previously saturated soils will likely lead to areas of scattered to widespread flash flooding, especially across central Alabama. .MARINE... Winds over the waters will be out of the east to northeast tonight into Friday, and then out of the east on Saturday. These winds should generally be sub-SCA in nature, but the middle portion of the Chesapeake Bay may approach low-end SCA levels this evening, and then again tomorrow evening. SCA criteria winds are possible Sunday and Monday as easterly winds gust 15 to 20 knots each afternoon. Update as of: 941 PM EDT Thu Sep 12 2024
