Motivation
[edit]We have the Open Met Collection as well as the Open Cleveland Museum of Art collections in JSTOR. I would like to add the link within Wikidata to those corresponding items to JSTOR. I am hoping that other open collections will follow and we can continue to link JSTOR artwork ID to those Wikidata items. – The preceding unsigned comment was added by Sharlisa (talk • contribs) at 14:23, December 6, 2021 (UTC).
Discussion
[edit]- Support I didn't know JSTOR included artworks. ArthurPSmith (talk) 18:39, 13 December 2021 (UTC)
- Question Is this actually an artwork ID or rather an image ID? The second example is especially relevant as it says Part of: Erich Lessing Culture and Fine Arts Archives, which obviously is not about the artwork. A quick look shows at least the following possible "ids" for the same item: 14393338, 13600904, 13718601, 13613380, 13592882, 13610625, which makes it unsuitable as an external id, even without mentioning 13614670, 13592741... --Nono314 (talk) 18:57, 15 December 2021 (UTC)
- I was unsure if I should use artwork ID or rather image ID. Happy to change it to image ID if that seems to be a better fit. I just want to figure out a way to choose the best available image that we have in our collection and attach it to the corresponding Wikidata ID.
