3 Questions: I Promise students learn more about keeping Akron beautiful

April is Clean Up Akron Month, and the non-profit Keep Akron Beautiful is collecting trash throughout the city.

AKRON, Ohio — Keep Akron Beautiful started in 1981 to prevent litter, promote recycling and beautify the City of Akron. Last year the group and volunteers removed almost 43 tons of trash. The organization’s CEO, Jacqui Ricchiuti, sat down with the I Promise School News Team.

Ricchituti told an eighth grade reporter about what Keep Akron Beautiful does, how youth can volunteer, plans for Clean Up Akron Month and a trash pickup event coming up at Summit Lake.

“3 Questions” can be seen on “What’s New” at 4pm on Fridays. The interviews are recorded at the Kaulig Media Lab at the I Promise School. The project is a partnership between Kaulig Companies, LeBron James Family Foundation & WKYC Studios.
