Multiple pizza delivery drivers robbed at gunpoint in Akron

According to Akron police, the descriptions of the suspects given in both incidents are similar, but it is not known if the robberies are related.

AKRON, Ohio — Akron police are investigating robberies involving two different pizza delivery drivers on the same day.

According to police, the descriptions of the suspects given in both incidents are similar, but it is not known at this time if the robberies are related to each other. 

Both incidents happened on Saturday, July 6. The first robbery happened at approximately 4:30 p.m. when the victim attempted to deliver a pizza to a house in the 1200 block of Smithfarm Avenue. When they arrived, two suspects approached the victim with at least one gun pointed at the delivery driver. The suspects took the pizza and cash from the victim. The first victim was described as appearing about 18 years old, tall, wearing a mask, black winter coat and black pants. The second suspect was described as 14 to 16-years-old, wearing a white shirt. 

Police said the house the victim was attempting to deliver the pizza to is currently abandoned.

The second robbery happened at approximately 11:15 p.m. The victim attempted to deliver the pizza to the residents of the home, who then told the worker that they had not ordered a pizza. When the victim returned to their car, a male suspect pulled a gun on the driver and demanded the pizza along with their property. The suspect in this case was described as approximately 18 to 20-years-old.
