So, either the French grant me this absolute majority or they will take the risk of seeing the New Popular Front (left-wing parties alliance) come to the head of the country. I don't want that for France. I believe that there are many French people who don't want this for France. And I even believe that there are voters today, including within the presidential majority, who were able to vote for (French President) Emmanuel Macron, who are confused by this alliance of carp and rabbit between Mr. Macron and France Unbowed party leader Mr. Melenchon."

The 28-year-old party leader, Jordan Bardella, once again requested a debate with left-wing France Unbowed party leader Jean-Luc Melenchon before the second round of the legislative elections, "project against project", adding that a victory of the left would mean "insurrection for France, chaos and disorder".

Melenchon and Bardella are the two candidates who said they were ready to become Prime minister on Sunday (July 7) in the event of a victory of their respective camps in the second round of the legislative elections.

Bardella is meeting up with Marine Le Pen, RN's leader in France's National Assembly and Sebastien Chenu, RN's vice president in the party's premises to prepare their second round strategy.

The RN and allies had 33% of the vote, followed by a leftwing bloc with 28% and French President Emmanuel Macron's centrists with just 20%, official results from the interior ministry showed on Monday.
