One of my fave cafes in downtown.
Popped in for breakfast and had a perfect coffee, and tried a few different sweet pastries. Also the breakfast egg sandwich on the croissant. Everything was phenomenal. In case you aren't feeling something sweet they also have savory sandwiches and salads.
The inside is super cute and there are small tables throughout. It was a beautiful day in Vancouver so I do wish they had outdoor seating but not a biggie. I also love that this place is 24/7 as I have come to realize many establishments close down earlier than I am used to.Helpful 3Thanks 1Love this 3Oh no 0 - 7193492 Jul 2024
Things I love about Breka:
1. It's open 24 hours, which stands out in a city where everything closes early.
2. They don't charge for milk alternatives, which is quite unheard of.
3. They have an excellent selection of sweet and savory treats.
The line moves fast because the staff is efficient. I have never seen an open seat, which could be annoying, but fortunately, I have always wanted to take my order to go.
The Earl Grey Cream Puff is a novelty where I come from, but I'm not sure I'd get it again, and it's a little hard to eat without a knife and fork.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 21 Jun 2024
The biggest perks of this bakery is that they're open 24/7 and the second one is that they have so many sweet and savory treats that you can enjoy. And the third one is that the taste and quality of the treats are very good.
We came here on an evening and ordered coffee with some delicious desserts and enjoyed them. Then we ordered some breakfast sandwiches and croissants for takeout.
I strongly recommend "Ham & Cheese Melt" and "Chocolate & Almond Croissant".
The service is fast and it's a good place to bring your laptop and work or enjoy small get-togethers.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - 17 Aug 2024Updated review
Good spot for lunch. Line moves relatively quick. Got the salmon chowder and a sausage roll. Good meal under $10.

I got the cretzel ham and cheese melt ($6.50) warmed up and had it to go. It was quite tasty and even came with a pickle! I also had the green power smoothie ($5.75) but it was a little watery for my liking (felt more like a juice). There are not a lot of seats, and you have to ask for a code to access the single washroom.

Open 24/7 this place is absolutely outstanding. Every item I have tried has been really good. Staff is very efficient at moving long lines.

I come here every time I'm in Vancouver. It gets crowded around 9am and there's a line. The service staff is efficient but it's awful for someone like me who is unsure what to choose. I had the matcha and Earl Grey puffs boxed up to take to go to my work, and decided to eat the sandwich and oat milk latte inside the store. They do heat up sandwiches for you but I had to check the counter as I couldn't hear the staff. Also The area around the drinks counter was crowded and I was waiting for my number but couldn't hear the staff.
I understand that it's crowded because it's a popular place, but it's not a relaxing place at all. I recommend the matcha puffs and the Cretzel ham & cheese melt. I'm grateful to BREKA for being open 24 hours.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - 20 May 2024
I'd heard great things about Breka Bakery & Cafe, and it lived up to the hype! On a Sunday morning, this location was pretty busy. The interior was more modern-looking than I had expected, with funky lighting fixtures and gold accents. The pastry display was full of amazing-looking baked goods, and we had a hard time deciding what to order. I ended up getting a Matcha Latte and Turkey Provolone Sandwich, and my boyfriend chose a Dirty Chai Latte and Reuben Sandwich. We also got a Banoffee Tart to share. Service was speedy and efficient, and we managed to snag a table right away.
My Turkey Provolone Sandwich was delicious (highly recommend getting it warmed up). The best part of it was easily the bread. I'd never tried Cranberry Walnut Sourdough before, but it was everything I hoped it would be. The portion size was very generous, but I managed to finish the entire sandwich. My Matcha Latte was also fantastic, and my boyfriend loved his Reuben Sandwich and Dirty Chai Latte. The Banoffee Tart was so decadent and had actual slices of banana inside. The flavor was pretty intense, so I'm glad we shared one, but it was incredible. Overall, loved Breka - would happily return!Helpful 3Thanks 2Love this 3Oh no 0 - 9 Jul 20241 check-in
Another stop on our doughnut tour of Vancouver brought us here to Breka Bakery & Cafe. The doughnuts were large and decadent (and tasty!) The face that they're always open (ie 24 hours a day, ie, they never close) is out of control. (In the way you want things to be out of control...I mean if it's 1:30 in the morning, and you NEED a doughnut...this is the kind of out of control-ness that serves you well.) Breka is a bright spot in the abundant doughnut offerings of Vancouver.

Breka is a popular Vancouver spot for coffee, bread, donuts, and pastries. They have 7 locations that are open 24/7/365.
This location is quite busy. Around 9am on a weekday there was a line. However it moved quickly, but not too quickly that you didn't have time to examine their beautiful display case stuffed full of pastries.
The cafe space here is very modern, with tall ceilings and sleek black bench booths. The pickup area where you wait for your items is awkward and crowded - it would be nice if they figured out a better system for this.
I got a matcha cream puff, egg bites, and a coffee. The cream puff was huge and tasted delicious. The other two were more normal and I would probably not re-order them. So I guess the moral of the story is when you go to Breka, choose to indulge.Helpful 6Thanks 1Love this 3Oh no 0 - 12 Apr 2024
Another location of one of the best local coffee chains around town.
Parking is pretty awful here. But it's close to Waterfront station.
Inside is packed, like all their other locations. This one has a more modern interior compared to the other locations, with their fancy light fixtures.
Staff are friendly and quick. Can't really go wrong with anything here.
They do have sandwiches and cakes, both of which I imagine are pretty good (I've tried them at the other locations).Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
