Our Audi Q7 needed new brakes. I called the dealership and they said (without looking at the car) it would need new brake pads and rotors. They quoted me $2700.

We called Das and they quoted us close to half of that. When we brought our car in they called and said the back brakes were nearly new, the front brake pads only needed replacing, and the rotors were fine. Their honest work allowed us to spend about 15% of the quote from the dealership.

Not only that-- when we dropped off the car I mentioned my son had dropped a marble in a vent under the seat. It rolled around constantly. I asked if they could just take a look and give us a quote. The dealership said they would have to take off the seat of the car, the flooring, it would take a few days, and several thousand dollars. It felt like they were trying to upsell us but they made the problem seem pretty involved.

After my husband paid he came back to the car and tossed me the marble. I couldn't believe it!! They were able to get the marble out and change the brake pads in a few hours on a Saturday. They didn't even charge us for retrieving the marble.

So long as we are in the area, I will never trust my car in other hands. (Certainly not the dealership's!) They we're so kind and happy. Called us several times to update and let us know cost. Can't say enough about this garage. Go, go, go and tell your friends!

I was really hoping that this would be my new mechanic, I need a place on the west side of the bay.
The gentleman who answers the phones was pleasant and seemed knowledgeable so I was quite disappointed with the results.
Turns out this place (just like everyone else these days) wants to do the bare minimum. I am fairly sure they quoted me go away prices instead of telling me they didn't want do the job.
I brought my car in primarily to have my AC looked at. I also had what I thought was an alignment issue with my tires I wanted them to look at. I told them I wanted everything fixed, which in my mind is an implication that I will pay for their services. They called me the same day saying that charging the coolant for the AC didn't work, and told me my tire was bent. I was given a quote for $1400 to replace the AC compressor. When I asked how much was labor they said the part itself is $900. A quick look online shows that I can order one myself in the range of $200-300. They also didn't even bother lookin up the wheel cost for me. It was Saturday so I had to leave the car for the weekend, but for some reason nobody contacted me until Tuesday. Tuesday they called and again didn't have a quote for the tire, and asked if I was going to pick up (mind you it was 4pm and I was y aware they wouldn't do any work).
The quote they gave for the wheel was $500 so I told them I would just pick up the car and do everything myself.

When I picked up my car the coolant light came on the dash (not something that was on when I dropped it)
Turns out my coolant is low. You hope when you take your car to a mechanic they are thorough and observant enough to notice any other attention the car needs.
I won't be back.

Great service! My car was ready within 1 hour for 50k mile service. Price was much better than what I would've received from the dealership.

I was up for 90K service, which is a major service and received some quotes in the high 3 figures. Then I contacted DAS Auto Service after my wife raved about how they were honest and helped her save $$.

I messaged them through Yelp and Quan responded within minutes. He was polite, clear and gave me a quote. I was able to book a next day appointment.

At the service station, Lalo checked me in within minutes and had me out of the door within 9 minutes. I was told to expect a phone call late afternoon. Lalo honored the quote, no up-sells or high pressure sleaze.

I inquired about changing spark plugs, which on a Prius is a pain to change. He gave me a fair price and a discount. I ended up saving a couple hundred bucks than other quotes and received my car on time. It seems to be working well and I cannot thank Das Auto for taking me in at such short notice and being honest! 5 stars and great service. Highly recommended!

DAS solved an electrical issue on my VW in a timely manner and at a pleasing cost. They now have a new loyal customer.

Wow, I came in one friday morning around the time they opened, and they were able to fix a small leak in my tire in 15-20 minutes for free!

DISHONEST mechanics! ** Do not take your car here. ** This is an overdue revue. I brought my car here a year ago to have the oil changed and the brake fluid changed. I have a Honda CRV. I usually take it to my mechanic in SF, but he was out of the country, so I saw DAS on YELP with good reviews! I also take my car to Honda Serramonte for maintenance. I told DAS to change my engine oil and also change the brake fluid, since it was recommended by Honda Serramonte, but of course the dealership charges more $. So, I pick up my car, paid for the oil change and brake fluid change. * They also told me my rotors were bad and needed replacement. I said I would do it next time since it was an expensive repair.

Anyway, when my regular mechanic got back from vacation, I told him my rotors needed to be changed. He checked it and said there's nothing wrong with my rotors. When I took my car to Honda Serramonte for the next oil change, they said I needed to have the brake fluid changed..and I told them, but I had it changed Just a few months ago.. they showed me how dirty the fluid was and I was surprised! Honda Serramonte also to,d me there was nothing wrong with my rotors!! So I took my car back to DAS, they saw the brake fluid was dirty and apologized , and changed my brake fluid. So they were trying to get away with charging me with the service even though they did not do it! They were also dishonest about my rotors!! NEVER AGAIN WILL I TAKE MY CAR HERE!!! I think just because I am an Asian woman, they wanted to trick me! They are NOT TRUSTWORTHY!!!
