This was the third museum. We visited on a weekend trip to New York and I'm glad we stopped by!
I really like a small museum. I could read everything there and this place was just big enough to be a little bit informative and fun too.
Each level has a slightly different experience and I like the collection of experiences they offered. There was a nice mix of information, visuals, fun facts, Instagram about picture places, I wish there was more in their store. I love a museum gift shop. I was looking for something to bring home to bring to Book Club like food, but besides the pasta and penis candy there wasn't a lot, the carnival game area was cheesy, but people were participating there and they look like they were having a good time. I would definitely recommend this place to friends. It was a playful breath of fresh air after the really serious museums and there was a lot more to it than I thought there would be.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 6 Jun 2024
Far too expensive for what you get. Bad videos about 'sex', A low-mid tier bar with a surprisingly fun bathroom area (could redeem the trip if you mostly hang out there while high or drunk) -- The 4D ride was...awful - like a REALLY really bad trip, visuals were not good, sounds were awkward, and frankly it was grotesque and not enticing which honestly is the majority of the content offered here,
The Good: Near the start, there is a floor that was mostly black, with a bunch of sex objects from different periods of history. This was the most entertaining floor by far, with about an hours worth of content to read and learn about. Following that, the Shop is amusing but you can find the products there elsewhere much cheaper.
The Bad: I say this with a heavy heart. I take no joy in giving low ratings, but almost everything else about this 'Museum' was awful. The 'arcade' is boring and the massive panorama style video in the room before it was ... not a good presentation and was lacking in entertaining or enticing visuals. I constantly found myself wanting something more -- and MoSex did not deliver. I found the next video which was a 4D 'Ride' through an orgy to be absolutely disgusting -- literally the worst representation of an orgy I have ever seen. It wasn't arousing, it wasn't enticing.
I went because as a New Yorker, I had to discover if this long-standing tourist trap was as bad as I'd heard.
It was even worse. If you're looking for some fun sex history with good visuals that might even turn you on, just look up Intelexual Media on Youtube and play her stuff on a big screen or something. This place is a hard pass.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 369428335430 May 2024
Incredible time! There's an interesting exhibit that illustrates a multitude of sex topics -- from icons such as Hugh Heffner to the very first vibrator -- very enlightening to say the least! The museum also has artwork showcasing the sexual mindset -- as weird as some may think -- of various artists. You might clutch your pearls a bit.
Once you've explored the exhibits and art floor, there's a fun and interactive game room. You can ride the bull, star in a porn film, have a race with jacking off you-know-whats...I can't believe I just typed that. LOL! There's many games to fulfill whatever appetite you may have.
Lastly, but surely not least, there's a bar where you can get kinky and sexy cocktails. See pics...I won't go into detail here...
This is a definitely fun experience. Go with girlfriends or your boo thang...fun times for all. Oh! And, I purchased some cool games to have game night at home ;-)Helpful 12Thanks 3Love this 10Oh no 1 - 3 Apr 2024
To be totally honest, I was not sure what to expect when visiting.
I was pleasantly surprised with the volume of exhibits and the level of education that was provided but I felt like some of the other exhibits were underwhelming and could have made better use of the space.
I really liked the second floor that had a lot of movie, media and music references because of how relatable and applicable that is to everyday life.
I enjoyed the concept of the games and carnival themed area but felt like the execution was off. The tunnel leading to the carnival video is cramped and you are crammed in there like sardines waiting your turn for a viewing. I did not enjoy the layout of that area at all.
Overall still enjoyed the experience and am glad we did it, but don't think I would go a second time.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - 18 May 2024
Not sure why the low rating, I had the time of my life here. For about $30, it was a solid 2 hour entertainment, probably even longer if they weren't closing and we had to rush. Sure, the name Museum of Sex already sounds...intriguing. But still I thought it would just be an exhibit like any other museum, but with sex stuff. After a few stories to looking at things, I was surprised it was just half of it, there's the other half where it's very engaging and interactive. What a brilliant way to keep kids out, it's basically a carnival for adults. There was bull riding, a simulator ride that does mist out out water to go along with what's happening in the video, a glory hole game where whoever jerk off the most dicks flying out gets a prize, crawl machines to win stress boobs, and many more! Oh my goodness, I felt like a kid again coming home with all the goodies.
And then across from it is Billionaire's Row...interesting.
Tell me about your experience if you've been here or is going to after reading this review:)Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - 5 Jul 20241 check-in
This museum feels more like a sexy fun house than museum. Carnival games, glory holes, stripper poles, slides, a bounce room full of tatas and more. Finish off with a visit to the adult toy store. This place wasn't just fun but also history of sex throughout the ages. Memorabilia from icons like Huge Heffnor was on display or a medical multi position sex chair from the late 1800s. This is a grate date night place to learn a little something and get your juices running to get a little something later. I had a great time and will be coming (wink) back.

This was a really fun experience.
The beginning part is a stores That leads up some stairs to some exhibits in the history. Then it takes you to a room with a brief video. Then you can go to some rooms where you can play games. You get to have one try at all of the games for for free. There was a lot of interactive things to do. Then you can go to the bar. Unfortunately, we had to catch a plane so we didn't get to go to the bar place.
We spent a couple of hours there and thought it was definitely fun and worth it.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Hella fun, interesting, and quite informative museum.
My friend and I decided to check this place out, and it did not disappoint.
Upon entering, staff was present to direct us to the right place to get on the waiting list.
The wait was short. We were able to walk around the gift shop while we waited.
Once we went in, the museum spiraled several floors above ground and took us through the history of all things sex from lingerie to toys, nudism, positions, etc.
This museum was very tastefully put together.
We enjoyed our visit to this museum and highly recommend it.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - 8 Jun 20241 check-in
Fun date night place for my partner and I with a bar and sex toy shop. My ONLY complaint is after we completed the self guided tour (which was informative, educational, and comical all at once) we went to the main level where the sex you store is to browse and purchase something new. Immediately we were bombarded by a sales associate who felt the need to give us a rundown of everything we picked up to touch and feel (which is allowed as they have testers out). It was so annoying and she practically followed us around the store, even though we barely responded to her. She was hyper and over bearing and it took away from the intimacy and spontaneity of the experience. We quickly grabbed a couple of items and got the hell out of there.

I had an incredible time. I've actually been before a few years back and pretty much saw the same artwork displayed but I came because I wanted to see Portia Munson: The Pink Bedroom which features everyday items that pose questions about mass consumerism, constructions of femininity and sexual objectification.
There's a game room which is fun and inactive, but I had the most fun at the bar. They serve up some sexy cocktails that are reasonably priced but potent. I left feeling good. Tickets are reasonably priced, and there are a lot of cute souvenirs for purchase as well
It was a fun day in NYC!
