Started hearing a rattle sound on my left front tire area. Took my car here. They checked it out, took off the tires, checked the breaks and everything, told me everything looked great and they didn't see anything or hear anything wrong with it after test driving it a few times.
They called me to let me know and offered me to take one of their workers with me in the car so they could try and hear the noise that I was hearing.
Jose rode in the car with me and he figured out what it was.
Jose was great, very friendly and knowledgeable!! Sebastian helped me out and gave me a quote and answered questions I had.
I highly recommend 1701 Auto Care! A few years back I had a flat tire, I took my car here and they fixed it within just a couple of hours and were SUPER reasonable!

My N.San Leandro, CA096Jan 26, 2018I needed a brake job so I looked up and called this place. Got my appointment set. Got there and the guy, Sebastian, immediately helped me. He got my Nissan inside and started working on it. He even showed me how the brake pads were worn out to the point that the pins were touching the rotors. He quoted me the price. I agreed to it as it was so straightforward with no hidden fee. I actually got to watch him worked on it. He changed both rear brake pads and rotors and I was out of there in less than an hour with brand new pads and rotors. Other places have quoted me more $$$ and told me I have to leave my car at the shop for a few hours.
Needless to say, I am one happy customer and I highly recommend this place. He was honest and he didn't try to sell on some extra BS parts or repair that I don't need.

Sebastian is so nice, honest and doesn't try to rip me off because I am a woman. Very fair prices and they do excellent work! If you need somewhere to take your car, this is the place.

I live in Berkeley and work in Alameda so I looked up a place on Webster Street and read a horrible review from someone with the same problem. Terrifying patch job photos.
I kept searching and saw 1701 Auto Care. ALL of their reviews are good which had me very skeptical but.. it needs to be done so I took the chance.
I originally contacted them through Yelp a short time later I saw the message inviting me to come in that morning. I drove over, pulled right up. They took my nailed tire and sent me on my way. I came back in an hour or so and they were done. They put my spare back in the trunk and put my regular tire back on. It was quick and painless. All of it. Check in, check out. It was effortless. It was about 20 bucks for the patch with a good guarantee.
Later I called back asking about a quote on a different car's issues and they were still very helpful and friendly. Everyone was friendly when I came in. Smiling, having a great day on a Monday morning. It was almost like I was there for fun instead of car trauma.
Some random things:
1. Everyone I saw was had a great trustworthy smile.
2. Goodwill and Park Street are near by if you need some time to kill.

These guys have been there for me and Rojaaaahh (my vehicle) through the ups and all the downs, I put a lot of miles on my vehicle as I use it for my business and 1701 auto is ALWAYS reliable and consistent in quality care. They are honest and really value their customers. Every time I pop in unexpected with another last minute vehicle crisis they stop and help and truly make me feel like it will all be ok.
I am SO grateful for 1701 auto. Last week, I found myself in a desperate place when my vehicle that I use for dog walking had a broken part in the transmission that was making a terrrrrible sound. Luckily I was referred to Auto Care, and I knew the moment I called and spoke with them that my car (Rojjjaaa is her name) was in good hands! I was able to drop her off same day and within a day she was diagnosed and on her way to repair! The rough quote I was given over the phone was exactly what it came out to be! I know these awesome guys pushed to get her done when they heard my daily rental fees were high, and for that I am extremely grateful. It can be intimidating and scary to drop your car off for repairs the unknown feels expensive, and often times is..but I never felt pushed or over sold on anything. Although I am a new customer I was treated like a regular and that's all anybody could ask for, After 7 years of living in the area I finally feel like I have a trusted mechanic and for someone that puts over 100 miles a day on her car IT FEELS GOOD. I look forward to getting more repairs done on Rojjjahh with the team! Thank you guys!
