Meet the Abmas: We've been part of the Wyckoff landscape for over 85 years! Nine decades and four generations later, we are still Bergen County's only produce and poultry farm. We pride ourselves on our family's tradition of hard work, honest values, and selfless service. In a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, we provide the community with the highest-quality fresh produce, poultry and eggs from our own chickens, daily baked goods from our "scratch" bakery, homemade specialties from our kitchen, and artfully grown plants from our greenhouses.

Q:
I have an adult daughter who uses a walker. Are these areas wheelchair/walker accessable?
A:
I remember it is a little hilly but I don't think there were steps. You should call them to verify

Can you bring a stroller?
A:
Hello, yes our farm is stroller friendly. If you are taking the hayride to the pumpkin patch, a stroller is not allowed on but you may park it in the loading area.

I've lived in Bergen County 38 of my 42 years and never knew about Abma's farm.
I made a stop there today while I was in the area. I picked up some fresh produce and some meat.
The meat selection was small, they had some chop meat, various types of free range chicken and sausage. Also carry pork products that are right from their farm. They had fresh eggs right from their chickens outside. The produce was very fresh. Some was from Abma's farm and some was brought in from other farms.
As other reviewers stated, there's some animals that you can pet and they had wreaths, trees and flowers for Christmas. Overall it's a nice place. Hard to believe it exists in Bergen county.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Virginia A.Ridgewood, NJ0433Nov 14, 2016
I came here from a friend's recommendation. I love cider donuts and apple pie so I headed straight to the bakery. Where I got sticker shock! HALF of a Dutch apple pie was $9.49. The small loaves of Apple bread were $8.99. Since I had made the trip, I bought both as well as some overpriced veggies and their chicken salad which was another highly rated item.
The pie was disappointing, especially for that price. Although the apples used were pleasantly tart, the amount of crumb on top seemed to allow a minimum of fruit. The apples were overcooked and mushy, similar to a can of Comstock. The apple bread was satisfactory but definitely not worth that price. CIder donuts were great. And the chicken salad was worth it. I
agree on a fair price for homemade items, but this seems excessively overpriced. And I'm a Bergen County girl who grew up on Market Basket food. At least there MB has specials.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Thank you for your review. We are sorry that you were disappointed in our freshly baked goods and the cost of producing them. I will let the bakery know of your experience so that they may improve in the future.

I absolutely loved Abma's farm, until I bought a pie and almost poisoned my guests. Normally I would give an outstanding review for this place for it's fresh produce and farm attraction, but after this event I am never going to buy dessert from this establishment.

Maria, thank you for the review and we hope in the years since you had this experience that we were able to rectify the situation. Our bakery makes all baked goods from scratch with all natural whole ingredients. That being said, there is a chance for human error. Depending on the expiration date and how the pie was stored, mold can occur because we do not use preservatives. In that case, we are happy to refund or exchange you for a new fresh pie.

Our family enjoyed visiting Adma's on Saturday. The kids in particular liked the pony rides, petting zoo and taking a hayride to the pumpkin patch.
We liked the general store, there are a lot of home made speciality foods. I recommend the apple cider and fresh doughtnuts.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Vivian R.Washington, DC16912771Aug 21, 2009First to Review
Perfectly rounded mozzarella (and for our daily etymology lesson, mozzarella has the same Latin root as mutilate). Fresh skin-on chicken parts. Beautiful produce.
The saying is "Jersey Fresh." There's good reason, and all you have to do is open your eyes at this place and see it.
Petting zoo outside is great for the little ones. The market also has Purell wipes for your taking inside to help ease parents' hearts after little hands have petted and fed tiny pellets to the animals. Baby1 insisted on feeding the goat one pellet at a time, much to his (and my) chagrin. I didn't like the flies around, but what can you do when there are animals involved. If it's any consolation, get the chicken salad sandwich on cranberry walnut bread. I'm salivating, 250 miles south of Abma's, just thinking about that sandwich.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Cindy A.Wyckoff, NJ011Oct 3, 2019

A great farm and market for families.
Their produce is fresh and abundant and their farmland is huge considering the location. The actual market and petting zoo is set up on a hill, and you can see the surrounding farm land as you drive through -- funny yet wonderful to see in suburban North Jersey. In their market, a good array of fresh produce, baked goods and meats for weekly groceries.
A small "pumpkin patch" for children to pick out a pumpkin (an area outside the store with pumpkins set up, no need to go treking onto a field), right next to an outdoor table filled with Halloween candy, tshatcka's and goodies (smart marketing to the little ones, Abma's).
A good amount of farm animals to see and pet.
Great selection for fall of apples, mums, pumpkins, gourds & corn stalks.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mary-Irene M.Ramsey, NJ37183Jun 1, 2013
Abma's is one of my favorite places to visit. We buy our produce there every week, because we love to support local biz, and because it's always so fresh and tasty. They've just begun offering cut and washed mixed greens, and they are delicious. This year we missed out on their CSA program, but will sign up as soon as possible to not miss out next year!! Along with all of the fresh produce, you can find meats, eggs, and other farm fresh goods. The nursery is really expansive too, offering a great variety of flowers and plants. For Mother's Day, they had make and take events for kids to create fresh planted flowers to give to their Mothers.
No one can ignore the charm of the petting zoo, either! There are bunnies, roosters, chickens, goats, ponies (and pony rides!), pigs, sheep...all pretty friendly and the kids love to see the animals. And visit with Benny the cat.
Overall, this place is awesome!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Rebecca S.Buenos Aires, Argentina483266485Nov 4, 2014
Abma's farm is an adorable little place with a small petting zoo and marketplace. It's got a cute country feel that will warm your heart.
It's a tradition for me to come here in the fall because they have a nice pumpkin patch to pick from, and they sell hot apple cider and autumny soups inside. They also do hayrides but I haven't been on one since I was a little kid.
Their petting zoo is small, but seemed amazing to me when I was younger. There's different kinds of chickens, turkeys, rabbits, goats & sheep, pigs and donkeys. My favorite part is their chick hut where you can peek through some panes of glass and see tons of adorable yellow baby chicks!
Their marketplace is warm and homey. They sell home grown produce, pies and pastries, their own brand of salsas and dips. The little room in the back has candles, country-style tchotskes and signs, stuffed animals etc. The last time I went I was pleasantly surprised to see their new wine tasting bar featuring a local NJ winery.
The only thing I don't like is there's no picnic tables to sit down and eat. They have tons of awesome ready-to-eat foods like salads, wraps and soups...but there's no where to sit down and eat them! I usually end up plopping down on a bale of hay to enjoy my soup but it's a tad uncomfortable.
All in all, Abma's is a great place to bring your kids to check out the petting zoo, or to just shop for local produce and the like.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Aug 21, 2013
This should really be a 5 star because its a nice place with lots of family tradition for over 25 years for me. Local on farm eggs and baked goods. Local produce is very nice BUT none organic. And in a suburban area chemicals are all over the place which is prob why they don't do organic. Given the organic farmers at local markets and even whole foods (Abmas prices comparable to organic at WF) this warrants the lower rating despite its charm.
