Positives:
-They answered the phone and promptly scheduled an appointment for the next day
-They showed up on time and the repair man was nice and professional
Negatives:
-They recommended replacing the ice maker and quoted us a price of $400.
-I bought a new ice maker online for $50 and did the repair myself in 30 minutes with one screwdriver.
-I understand that there is a price for convenience and professional service, but these prices are too high. I'd be happy to pay $150-200 to have the issue taken care of, but $400 for a simple 30 minute job? Come on guys.

You are absolutely correct that doing something yourself is always less expensive.
ORIGINAL Icemaker for your fridge http://www.searspartsdirect.com/part-number/w10190981/0046/106.html is $176.50 plus tax and shipping. You got an aftermarket part somewhere on the internet which we cannot use because of the liability. Our prices are based on "The Major Appliance Service National Price Guide" http://appliancebluebook.com/Preprintedbluebook and reflect the cost of doing business in San Francisco.

Excellent service. Responded promptly to fix our sub-zero ice maker. Came out when they said they would. Knowledgeable. Efficient. Boris was great. Will call again for service of other appliances. Would recommend to others.
