I can't thank Tony enough to breathing new life to the Swisher wheel weed wacker I own. Tony can be consider a doctor of the small engine machine.

(***) Third star award reason: Tony is knowledgeable in the field (he must have fixed many gardening power equipment, quick diagnostics, identify the problem within 5 minutes.
(****) Fourth star award reason: Tony shared his knowledge, and educate his client on how to properly maintain the machine. I did not know if gas sit in the machine for 2 months, it causes problem nor did I know how important it is to change the air filter.
(*****) Fifth star award reason: Price. Cost of repair, $80. Includes replacing spark plug, filter, engine oil and labor. Much cheaper than replacing a $450 dollar machine.

Definitely putting Avery Mobile Services in my book for all my future repair needs for my out door power tools.

Spring is almost here and it was time to get my landscaping machines ready. Thanks to Yelp, I was able to find Tony Avery and book his services right away. What I love most about his services is that fact that he's mobile. I didn't have to drive my machines to a lawnmower shop and wait for weeks. (I.e. Orchard Supply and Sears). After Tony completed my tune ups, I was able to test my machines and get my landscape projects underway.

Helpful Hints:
Be sure to give Tony the make and model of your machines. This will help him get the parts ahead of time. Also, book early in the week. This will ensure you get that Saturday morning appointment like I did. Have cash in hand ready. He gives price quotes over the phone.

My faithful lawn mower needed some immediate help. After years of weekly use, our Craftsman mower quit in the middle of the front lawn.
Since I don't have a truck, I had no idea (short of hiring a gardener) for a solution. I checked the first person listed on YELP and it was Tony.
He was here within two hours!!
After a complete service including blade sharpening and a tutorial on lawnmower maintenance, I was able to finish our lawn.
I have to say, I should have done this years ago.

He was great! He came out in his little Honda with tools and parts ready to work. He was very nice and willing to teach me how to maintain my mower. He even cleaned up my mower to look good as new!

I called Tony Avery and said my lawnmower wouldn't start. He asked me a few questions and made an appointment. True to his word, he only charged me this $65 special repair rate and even promised to return to adjust the carburetor. He left his own vice clamp in place until he could return to make the adjustment. The guy is young, quite the self starter and personable. But while he works, its like watching a surgeon. He clamps, makes adjustments, unclamps and checks his results. He is quite the masterful. Finally, if you are dedicated to your machine (and he says they can last 30 years), pay attention to his work. He told me if I weren't shy, I could make some of these adjustments myself. Its a bit of a class, where he identified the rotting fuel line, took out the carb and cleaned it. If its a small obstruction I maybe able to diagnose it myself.

I wrote that he is located in San Jose but he came all the way to Oakland and did not charge me extra.

Called Tony once again for my lawnmower starting problems. He arrived on time and fixed the problem in 10-15 minutes. Everything is fine now. I've had Tony work on a bunch of my power equipment--his work is always great. It's also super convenient that he comes to my house and works on the equipment here.

I needed to clean up the gas line. Explained the problem over the phone and Tony instantly gave me the out of pocket cost, which was very reasonable and competitive compared to other services. He arrived on time, besides the required work, also sharpened the blades, replaced the plug for free and educated me about how to maintain the mower. From what I can tell, Tony is very honest, professional, efficient. Will definitely use his service next time and highly recommend to others.

Having Tony come to the house to perform the work on my mower was an absolute pleasure. He is extremely experienced and knowledgeable and is a prince of a guy. I would give him ten stars if I were able!!

incredible service and great price. Tony arrived on time and is a very nice gentleman. he replaced my pull cord, replaced primer button, put in a new spark plug, changed the oil and re-installed the blade correctly (i had installed it backwards). ALL for $95!!!!!
