Bar Camino

My friend wanted to try Bar Camino and suggested we meet here for dinner. It's a pleasant spot in Walnut Creek and the food is inviting but I wouldn't go out of my way to come back.

I made reservations through OpenTable which wasn't necessary. The restaurant is popular and workers are efficient, kind, and regularly check on you. The interior is quite spacious with bright and fun Latin themed decor.

With winter approaching, I craved something warm and comforting. I settled on the Green Pozole Bowl. Having never had pozole, it was satisfying. The bowl was quite massive. The soup was on the saltier side unfortunately, making it hard to finish. The braised pork was generous and soft while the toppings were a nice texture. I wish the seasoning shined more than the salt. When it was brought to staff's attention, the manager was apologetic and graciously offered to fix the issue which was appreciated. My friend enjoyed her meal.

Bar Camino's located off Broadway with limited parking. It's not the best for Mexican food but suffices for the area. Service was stellar and we left full.

The fish taco and birra taco were so scrumptious! We especially loved the fish tacos. They use real cod fish and grilled to perfection. Definitely on the pricey side though.

You can tell this place is a fun and great spot to meet up with your friends at. It has a lively atmosphere, and the food is great too. Bar Camino has a ton of space to accommodate bigger groups too.

My experience there recently wasn't great though. Our server wasn't too friendly to us, and it didn't leave us with a good feeling at the end of our time. Our server argued with one of our friends about a drink that he ordered, left us outside on the patio without checking up on us, and didn't bring the check to us after we asked to close out a few times. We moved inside to wrap up the night, and he gave us a few eye rolls and deep sighs. He seemed very annoyed with our group. It might've been a day for us to come there, but I don't think I would want to return to this spot.

Walking around WC and came across BC. Looked inviting with an outside area. Everyone was personable, servers had good Recommendations and establishment was clean. Tables outside could use some attention. A table umbrella blew over and was fortunately caught by patrons but staff was on it.
Our server was excellent he made sure we understood each dish and what level spice was present.
Drinks and food were for
The most part awesome. Exceptions were the avocado toast. It Was mostly greens, no real flavor and it was presented like a sandwich. Too Much bread. I'd pass on this one. The brunch breakfast burrito was on the odd flavor. Seemed the eggs were extremely overcooked. This item
Was sent back. There were six of us so we had a good representation of their offerings.
The pozole was amazing as was the tuna appetizer. Salsas are really flavorful and not too spicy.
Despite the failed two dishes their food is good. It May have just been an off day for the failed dishes.
The service was friendly, professional and personable. I
liked everyone there but their service was extremely slow and it was not busy at all.
The manager came over apologized for the sent back burrito offered to make it right and she removed it from the bill.
Mis-steps happen and it's how they are dealt with is the factor.
At BC the manager cared and that is what matters in the end.
I'd give BC a go. Especially if you like Pozole and mescal.

5 stars isn't enough for Bar Camino! The food was incredible, the shrimp tacos were packed with flavor and the margaritas and yuka fries made for a perfect pairing. The ambiance was electric, especially the outdoor seating area with twinkling lights above that created a romantic vibe. But what truly made our experience stand out was the exceptional customer service. Our server, Romeo, was EPIC! He went above and beyond to ensure we were having a great time, checking in on us multiple times and offering fantastic recommendations. If you're looking for a great spot to grab a bite and enjoy a night out, look no further than Bar Camino and be sure to ask for Romeo!

Chicken Suiza Enchiladas are my go to and never disappoint! Their cilantro rice is delicious and has so much flavor vs other restaurants.

The cocktails are also done really well and are always delicious. The Be Cool Honey Bunny is a great addition to your meal as it has a gingery honey flavor. But you can't go wrong trying any of the drinks on their menu!

First time at this new hot spot since it was Maria Maria's. Still felt like Maria Maria's to me since it looks exactly the same inside and outside with a slightly different menu. Happy this place is still here and hasn't changed much for the simple fact this is where I came with my now boyfriend and I had the biggest crush on him and tried to get him drunk so I could take advantage of him.
Anyways back to tacos rather than my own taco. I got my favorite quesabirria tacos and added a pork belly taco for $6!! Can't pass that up since the tacos aren't cheap and feel like it balances out a little. Also got the guac even though we know it's extra but worth it. My girlfriend got the cheese enchilada plate and plantains to share. Everything was great.

Came here for the first time today and I was blown away by the quality of food.

The salsa with the chips was so good and you could tell it was made with quality ingredients.

The birria and consomé was also delicious.

The staff was very nice and helpful, I really loved the back patio that we sat in. Next time I am in Walnut Creek I will have to come back!

Came with my co-workers and we were a party of 10 ! Unfortunately we couldn't sit inside because it was by reservation only so we sat in the patio area. Luckily, they had decent heat lamps so the cold did not bother us. Service was quick and friendly! My co-workers ordered Yucca fries and a cup of pazole, pambazo chorizo y papa, and more Quesabirria.
I ordered the Quesabirria Tacos, so that's what I'm basing my review on. The portions may be on the slightly smaller side, but the tacos were filled nicely with meat so every bite was yummy! We appreciated the fresh Corn Tortilla Chips and guacamole as well.

I would like to say that the ambience is nice and the restrooms were clean. Also, the service was good. The waiter was very attentive to my ordering ...when it came to my order I wasn't satisfied on the taste however, he quickly corrected the issue. The food here ....I haven't had everything, this is my second time at this location however, I do recommend it. Here's a few pictures that I did have.
