It was a great day for a horse race! Belmont Park is more than just a gambler's paradise -- it's where people can come together and spend a great afternoon. There are picnic areas (equipped with televisions, so you never miss a live-cast race) for families and friends to chill out, and there is plenty of room in the stands to come out and watch the races fly by. There are also areas where people can see the horses before they go out on to the track, as they parade around and show off their racing chops. Place a bet or just come for an interesting afternoon activity. Just make sure you get off at the right area, as parking prices vary depending on which gate you enter.

Great day at the track. Had no idea, but there is a great picnic area to hold events. Fantastical. Cheap too.

What can you say about Belmont Park, it's dirty, old, huge. It's brings you back in time. Like reading an old Bukowski poem. It's a historical monument. One of the great things is bringing your own food and beer - you can beat that. Plus you can double your paycheck in one race, lol. Let it Ride!

Let's get this straight first...I was here for the yelp elite LI event and Drew and America's Best Racing were phenomenal in terms of setting everything up and being such wonderful hosts. In fact, they were probably the most pleasant people we encountered throughout the entire day. From the moment my guest and I got to Belmont Park, it was an awful experience. The ticket booth lady yelled at us for being late to an event that was not even any of her business in the first place...it seemed to be a consistent trend that every worker there had the WORST communication skills, ZERO knowledge of public events (ie: we were lost and were trying to look for our group), and the park was run down and had nursing home esque ticket booths, interior, and amenities. Also, if there's freakin chili dogs listed on the BELMONT CAFE menu, don't scream at us saying you only have hot dog condiments. Hire people that actually know how to function in life and not manage to work here like LOST PUPPIES...be better prepared for crying out loud. HOW HARD is it to VERBALLY communicate that we need to cash out vouchers instead of just telling us you don't accept it and go away? God knows how they even handle Belmont Stakes in the summer.

What a great time I had at the Belmont Stakes this past weekend. Normally the track isn't so crowded, but I can imagine it's still a lot of fun. Placed a few bets, had a few drinks and met up with a bunch of friends. It's easy to get our here from Brooklyn or Penn Station and only takes about an hour. Great option if you need something new to do over the summer.

Was very excited to go the Belmont Park with my wife to watch the race for the first time. Very large and beautiful venue. Was very disgusted to see the teenagers drinking, smoking cigars and acting stupid. Trash everywhere. Getting food was also so difficult as the lines were long and moving at a snail pace. On top of that the teens were also cutting in lines with their friends already in line, pushing and getting in your space. There is police and security there, but what a mismanagement. I would have expected a better organized venue. After the race..getting to the MTA bus was also a hassle. Everybody was standing in a crowd outside waiting until the security opened the gates and was allowing batches of people to catch the bus. Too much uncertainty and chaos. It just spoiled the whole experience for us. It seemed like a low class gambling area with poor standards. We were surprised that no one seems to be doing anything about this, because we are pretty sure this has been happening for a long time now.

Signage was inadequate. Staff was not knowledgable. One staff charged me price listed on signs but range up a lower price. Other staff lied to me. Food was awful and crowd flow mismanaged. Don't go!

After seeing the Belmont Stakes race a couple of times on television, we decided to come visit. There was a line of cars waiting to get into the parking lot and someone did not want to wait and cut the line and almost hit us. The employees said nothing to the person for his/her dangerous driving. Parking costs $3 which was ridiculous. On top of that, there was a $5 admission fee. So people have to spend money to come in and lose money betting on horses? The park itself has a picnic area with monitors to watch the races and an outdoor stand to place bets. If you walk into the large building, the place is a dump and poorly designed. The escalators are all over the place and it does not look nice at all. We ate at the food court and it was $5 for a slice of pizza and $5 for bottled water. They do not give free cups of water. The pizza was lukewarm even though the man puts it in the oven. The races run every 30 minutes and 15 minutes prior to the race they show the horses around in the front. If you are not a gambler, waiting around for the show and race will get very boring. The races were exciting and when the horses get closer people yell and cheer just like on television and in the movies. They also curse if they lose. I heard many profanities. Do not listen to the website when they say they have a dress code to enter. I followed it and was overdressed in hot weather. I felt like an idiot. People wear anything they want and are free to enter. I did not bet because $3 for parking, $5 for admission, $5 for pizza, and $5 for bottled water was already a rip off. I agreed to get ripped off 4 times not going to make it 5 times.
