Super yummy food. I love the foods and cocktails. It's really interesting being able to watch the chef's make the sushi (maybe one day I'll cook better.)

Phenomenal Vancouver spot. Seafood was fantastic as the oyster selection was exceptional. Great staff from the mommy walked in the door.

Literally everything - from the pillowy complimentary bread with the accompanying white bean and artichoke dip to the service from Mackenzie, the sashimi platter, and the sablefish - was amazing!
The seafood was probably the most fresh I've had in North America. The sashimi simply melts in your mouth. Definitely have them fry the ebi head! It's fresh and so crisp!
The sablefish was flaky and also melts in your mouth. The umami sashimi broth paired well with the buttery texture of the sablefish.

There is a reason Blue Water Café is one of the best restaurants year after year. As someone who does not eat seafood, I was slightly devastated to be eating here for dinner. They take reservations so it was one of our only last minute choices. Décor and atmosphere are stunning. We sat at the bar to have a cocktail before we ate. The cocktails and drink list is extensive and really unique options.
Surprisingly, they have a ton of vegetarian options!! Hands done, try their fresh sushi. We got the Garden roll (cucumber, green beans, avocado, and radish sprouts) and their sweet potato roll (not on their menu but should be because its epic). These rolls were exquisite and absolutely perfect to start.
For the main, Baked Polenta with Black Truffle Miso (sautéed mushrooms, zucchini, broccolini roasted red pepper sauce, parsley pesto). This dish was so incredible and flavorful. I don't even like polenta but I still crave this dish.
The service is top notch. It does not get better than this. Their sommelier was so knowledgeable and spent time explaining the wines to us. Hands down, one of the best experiences I have had at a restaurant.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Apr 28, 2022
Overall good vibes! The atmosphere is lively but not too loud. We tried different menu items and everything was decent. Nothing that blew our mind but more importantly nothing that was disappointing.
They have an extensive wine selection. Our only complaint was that they messed up our bills and added way too many bottles of water (13 bottles for 7 ppl!) and it took forever so try and fix it so we just gave up and left. No biggie but you'd expect them to be more organized with their billing and it's accuracy!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Zoe H.South Vancouver, Vancouver, Canada07Jul 2, 2023
I've only been here once, I believe on Valentine's Day, but the food was excellent, melt in your mouth kind of good. Service was excellent as well.

We wanted our final meal in Vancouver to be memorable and this restaurant in Yaletown really delivered. Ambiance, food and service were all top notch. Ordered the seafood plateau for a shared starter, wagyu flat iron steak and lobster as our entrées with curated wines to match and it was a fitting way to end our visit to Vancouver.

Came in for a nice dinner with my wife last night and we were both blown away with everything. We had a bunch of appetizers and each one was more delicious than the last - my favorite had to have been the Dungeness crab Mac and cheese though. For dinner I had wagyu steak which was mouth watering, among the best steaks I've had in my life.
They have a massive list of wines, sakes, whiskey, etc. as well. It's all pretty expensive so prepare to open your wallet a bit, but for a special occasion or a nice vacation dinner you probably couldn't do much better.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
