Q:
Are there any additional fees or charges associated with buying a car from your dealership?
A:
No. We charge are service fee to broker the transaction but otherwise there are no additional fees other than customary fees charged by all dealerships. We aim to get an overall better deal than the buyer doing on his/her own. It is all about… more
Christopher G., Business ManagerQ:
Can you offer advice on the best time to buy a car to get the most favorable deal?
A:
Most often the best incentives are November and December. However, manufacturers may offer great incentives at any time to move over supply so what I tell my clients is the best time to get a new car is when you are ready!

The good:
-Easy to use interface on their website
-Top notch design on their website
-Up front pricing and lease specials monthly
The Bad:
-Pricing is substatially higher when compared to other auto brokers I shopped.
-I was assigned a broker named Amanda after an initial phone call. Called and emailed her with no reply. A week later she emails me a quote out of the blue totally unaware of my 2 other attempts to contact her.
My opinion regarding car brokers: I use it to save money and receive better service than the car dealer. Roadster offered neither. Gave 1 more star for the Web design.Helpful 9Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Perry W.Los Angeles, CA664Dec 18, 2015
"I just bought a car on the internet!"
I have seriously said those words about six dozen times in the last few days and I still have to pinch myself over how easy it all was. I knew the car I wanted and I knew how flexible I could be with color and options. Roadster took care of me from there. From first contact to keys in my hand, the whole process took less than one week!
I gifted my car to my Dad over the summer and had enjoyed being a one car household for a few months, but in LA that's not really a long term option. I knew I needed a car and was excited over some new wheels...but I haaaaaaaaaaaate the buying process. I'm not a negotiator, I'm a 'close your eyes, hold your nose and write a check to get it over with' type. Which is obviously not a financially savvy way to go about life. I was running out of time and desperately trying to work up the nerve to enter a showroom, when a friend mentioned he just purchased his car from Roadster. Whoster?
Enter Amanda B. A true service professional in every sense of the word. She asked a few questions and was on her way. I was surprised and elated to see emails from her after normal working hours and even early in the morning. She was on a mission and boy did she succeed. We had a minor setback when the car we were eyeing was sold before I could stake my claim, but it actually worked out even better because the color/package option I eventually got is WAY better than my initial selection (i.e., I've gotten a lot of, "Oh, that is SO you!") The universe works in mysterious ways...
Unless you are one of these Art of the Deal types, this is your future and the future is now. There is no better way to buy a car, period.
PS: I obviously punched my quotes into a few online calculators before signing anything - and the big fat EXCELLENT I got back from each and every one of them sealed the deal. Thank you Roadster! (and let me know when you spin off into Housester!)Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Lindsay-Rae L.San Francisco, CA2816Jul 9, 2019
Our lease was up and we were dreading having to go through the whole process of leasing a new car. Our good friend recommended BuySide to help us with the process. We first began our conversations with Chris at Buyside with a narrowed list of 2-3 SUVS, along with a price point per month we were open to paying. Chris patiently walked us through each make and model and the pros and cons of each. After the initial discussion, Chris was available and involved and answered all of our questions or concerns promptly. Finally, we narrowed it down to 1 make and model, but with different features. Again, Chris walked us through the pros and cons of each featured model. Today, we're happy to report we've had our new SUV for a month and we couldn't be happier!

I was leasing a new Lexus for my wife for Christmas as a surprise. I had heard about Roadster on KNBR and decided to check them out. I did it all on line and they delivered as promissed. They had all the paperwork ready to sign when they delivered the car. They were even early, called so it didn't ruin the surprise. Over I was very happy with the experience and would use them again.

Mark Hugret, my Roadster concierge, was personable, attentive, and extremely hard-working. I imagine that he is hooked up to cyberspace with a machine like in the Matrix because he had lightening-fast responses to all my emails (and I ask a lot of questions. A lot.) and found me my car (and other alternatives) within hours.
I really liked their website. It is very user-friendly and self-explanatory. Definitely better than going through a dealership. Click on car, click on option, wait for the Roadster agent to call, done!
My minor qualm was that it did take a bit longer than expected to get my car, but this was because 1) I requested a hugely popular car/color and 2) it was during the holiday season, which slowed down cars being transported from the factory to the dealership 3)someone bought my first choice because I was not quick enough and out of town. As other reviewers have stated, I'm sure that this is normally not the case.
Overall, I was very satisfied with the purchase. I think I got a great deal, and I even liked the guy who delivered the car to me (Chris Wong) because he was super chill. I would definitely recommend this service to people looking for cars.
Thanks, Mark! Sending virtual hugs to Mr. Hugret! (I had to say that.)Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Tom K.San Francisco, CA610Dec 1, 2015
Phenomenal experience. Easily the worst part about buying a car is doing the research and dealing with negotiations. Easily the best part about buying a car is bringing it home. Roadster eliminates the worst and delivers the best. You'd think that paying for the convenience would mean a MORE expensive price overall. You'd be wrong, as I originally was. I ended up with exactly the car I wanted, delivered to my door in days, for nearly 10% less than what I would have paid at the dealership (not to mention the wasted time of having to go into SF to purchase/pick up the car). Jay my personal concierge was a breeze to work with and took care of all the hassle. The website is easy to use and straightforward. So good was the experience that I kept asking myself, "Where's the catch?". There was none.
Use this service. I promise you'll wonder how you did without.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Marc B.San Jose, CA62221Jan 12, 2017
I was in the market for a new vehicle and wanted to get away from the 'traditional' process of leasing a car. I looked online and found Roadster. My Concierge Kim Hoang was very helpful, informative and patient, especially, since this is the first time for me to have both an existing lease and moving into a new car (purchase/lease).
Kim was very approachable, accessible and more importantly cared about the process and ensured that I knew the expectations and the timeline. Although, I am not moving forward at this point to a new car (nothing to do with Roadster), I do think there's added value in the service, platform and experience that Roadster provides.
As someone working in Start Ups, its great to find another company that is looking to change the way things work - for the better. Keep up the good work! Thanks again Kim. We will be in touch down the road!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Roderick H.Newark, CA253143Jan 8, 2016
Give 5 stars because I cannot give 6!
I just purchased my new car via clicking mouse on Internet. At first I was really hesitated as its not a small stuff that you can buy it without deep consideration, but Roadster makes it super easy! They are professional and reliable, discuss detail with me back and forth several time, until they found car matches my expectation! The price is really competitive (I compared lots of off/online service), what's most important is that you are saving tons of times! The whole process for me took around 5 days (from sending request to the car deliver to my home!).
I also traded in my old car with Roadster, they provided really good price and, its super easy! I just took some pictures of my car, and they evaluate. I also tried other service which includes inspection, but Roadster's price is both competitive and fast. When the new car deliver, they just hand in the check for the trade in, everything is so easy like you are shopping at supermarket.
I am really glad that I found this service. 5 days for purchasing new car and selling old car! And what I did just replying email, checking online, and talks on phone.
Be sure you do some homework (like test drive, or knowing the package/options you want to get from the car), then the whole process will be very smooth and happy experience.
Definitely recommend to give a try!
And thank you Roadster for helping me getting my new car.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - John K.Russian Hill, San Francisco, CA06Aug 20, 2019
You need to do yourself a favor and use Chris at BuySide Auto for your next auto / truck purchase. This was our first experience using a car broker, and will now be our go-to in the future. Chris' communication was prompt, informative and direct and his fee is nominal, especially considering the time and hassle you save. What a relief not spending hours at the dealership haggling over price. He's going to get you the best price, as he works with the dealerships directly and has established relationships with them. He's been doing this for 15 years (I think?) and his professionalism shows this. This is starting to sound like a commercial, but I can not say enough positive things about this experience as well as Chris. If you value your time and peace of mind, this is your auto broker.
I never post reviews, but just had to for this.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Joe O.Mountain View, CA307Dec 9, 2015
Having only recently moved to the US, I wasn't sure how readily I'd be able to lease a car, not having an US credit history. I initially spoke to Jay at Roadster and he made some enquiries on my behalf, indicating that there were indeed options.
Once I'd decided on a car (VW Golf GTI), I kicked off the process through the Roadster site, and things started to move very quickly. Mark, my concierge, was very responsive to all questions I had and made the process very straightforward. I had to send through various pieces of documentation (specific to the VW "Foreign Professional" programme), and Mark facilitated the communication between me, the VW dealer and VW Credit, who were financing the lease.
Once the lease was approved, Roadster took delivery of the car the same day, and had it to me before 10am the next morning. Mike who delivered the car was very knowledgeable about cars in general, and made the paperwork process very straightforward. Within 30 or so minutes I was taking the car for a spin and knew I'd made the right decision in going both with the GTI and with Roadster.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
