My car battery needed jumping on the morning of my inspection. Thinking I needed to change my plans to get a new battery, I told John. He took a look at my car, tested it, gave a few recommendations for keeping the car more maintained- but said we didn't need a new battery. How wonderful to find a shop that won't shove new parts at less informed customers.

He took care of the inspection and an oil change in less than an hour. I won't go to any other car shop in LIC or Greenpoint. John has my business!

I wrote them an email asking for information and they were very responsive straightaway. I was able to make an appointment the same afternoon and i am glad I did so. Everyone at Champion is so helpful, polite and friendly. They did my car inspection in a timely manner and explained anything I needed to know. I will definitely be returning if I ever need a mechanic.

In a world littered with scammers, these are the good guys. I did a lot of research on where to get my car inspected and every place seemed to have some messed up situation except for this one. Well low and behold that's for good reason. I'd call ahead as they're busy but saw me right on time and 45 min later I had my sticker no hassle.

Pandemic times made the past 12 months move slow and fast all at the same time - and I still have trouble what day of the week it is. PSA: Remember to check if you're due for your annual state car inspection. I sure didn't and was reminded by a gift only a traffic cop can give you - a ticket for an expired inspection sticker. Overdue by just 5 days. I don't drive a whole lot but needless to say, I wanted to take care of this quick and found Champion the next day. Local, nearby and they were open at 8am and available to help. John the owner and team were friendly, explained the services they offered and even did my oil change - bonus: they even fixed a jammed button on my console for free. Prices were reasonable - and no surprise up charges or up selling. As I wasn't in a rush, I left my car in their hands and was called within 2hrs when it was all done and ready for pickup. Will gladly return here for my next oil change and any other auto repair needs.

Went in for a car inspection. The man I interacted with was very professional and nice. Within 1.5 hours, he called to let me know the inspection was completed. They fixed a light without charge, and their price for the inspection was very reasonable at $38. It's a busy little shop, but it's a testament to the great job they do, and they work quickly. Would come back here again for any car issue.

I am an upstate transplant and I normally have all work done up there. Today I realized I had forgotten to get my inspection and I was going to start getting tickets every day I parked my car on the street. I called John at Champion and told him my situation. It was already 3:30 pm. He said he wasn't sure how quick he could do it but to come in and he'd help as best he could. I stopped by and John had me out of there in under an hour with two new bulbs replaced on my blinkers.

He only charged me what the state mandates for payment to get a car inspected. He helped me out for next to nothing. So cool. He was helpful and trustworthy. I will return any time I need anything done with my car. I suggest you go in and see him next time you need work done on your car. What a great example of how to run a garage.

Firstly, I booked an appointment for an inspection and I had to wait a week. I bring the car in and they say the machine has been down for a few days (a call would have been nice so as not to waste my time). A week later, I bring it in when the machine is fixed at 8:30am. Kimberly called back saying I needed break pads and wipers to pass inspection (overpriced and took half a day for a job I could have done in an hour myself). I give them the job based upon being told the car would pass inspection after that. Kimberly called at noon saying I should do bearings, but not necessary to pass inspection (declined on bearings). Then Kimberly called at 3 o'clock saying they hooked the car up and did not pass inspection due to a check engine light being out (that would have been noticed upon starting the vehicle). If you are told your car will pass inspection and are roped into doing work and then get a call that it won't pass inspection a day later, I'm not sure what that sounds like, but it sounds like a scam to me. I spoke with John and he defended his right to be wrong. Pass means pass on vehicle inspections. We're not finished means we're not finished, and we still need to check. A clear line of communication needs to be established.

John and everyone at Champion are amazing. They are honest, caring people. I had my car battery replaced there and then they helped me through a challenging process of getting my car inspected. Without going into details, John went above and beyond. They have me as customer for lifetime. I am so happy to have found a repair shop I can trust. You will not be sorry going to them.
