This Sulbing store is attached to a Chicken Plus store but we came here just for the Sulbing desserts. We tried out their Strawberry Yogurt Shaved Ice Bingsu and it is truly one of the best Bingsu desserts we've ever had! My husband is kinda picky when it comes to Bingsu. He often doesn't like it, but this one...he was very happy with it! They were very generous with the strawberries, and there was a very tasty sauce on top of the strawberries. Together with the yogurt and shaved ice...it was super tasty and refreshing!
They're a bit on the pricey side, but if you like Bingsu then you should definitely try the Bingsu from Sulbing !

Put a sticker over the No Tip option on the payment device.
Not everything deserves a tip. It is sleazy to cover it up.Helpful 9Thanks 5Love this 2Oh no 4 - Anne C.Bayside, NY04May 23, 2024
Heard about their scheme of hiding the "no tip" option at checkout for what is basically counter service and self cleanup. Like the restaurants that charge 3% on a credit card, if you have to pull extra money out of your customers' bank accounts, you shouldn't even be in business.

Just read that you guys force people to tip. Shame on you, people should be allowed to tip based on service, not because they have to. That's a disgusting practice and now that it's gone viral, you will continue to lose business. Do better.

It was good but not nearly $20 a bowl of sulbing good. Didn't try the fried chicken.
I understand its a chain and prices are standard but I feel a tad ripped off as it was expensive for shaved ice.
Service is like a cafeteria. You order, get a number and you go up to pick up your tray when your number is called. Which I don't mind as I dislike people asking me how my food taste.
Water is 80c a bottle which is a steal though. Its a nice cozy atmosphere with music and you can actually talk at a normal level.
Lots of parking outside and child pram friendly with lots of space in between tables.
I'd come back if prices were cheaper.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Ashley K.BC, Canada01Oct 1, 2023
When I walked in it was oddly quiet with only music playing. Now I understand why by reading the reviews here.
My friend and I ordered a red bean bingsu and a green tea waffle. Total comes to $35.70. The lady who received our order was so unfriendly. No eye contact just short answers to our questions. I had to go back to her to get an extra spoon for bingsu and a small plate for the waffle. Very inattentive and unwilling attitude whole time. She was looking at her phone when she wasn't working.
The food was tasty but I won't go for that price especially with an unpleasant attitude from the employee.Helpful 3Thanks 2Love this 1Oh no 1 - Tina C.Richmond, Canada111771567Mar 20, 2022
New Korean fried chicken restaurant that also has Sulbing Korean dessert cafe. Best combination of comfort food in one shop.
There is a order counter and pick up counter. Basically, you order and pay and pick up your own orders. There are two stations for you to return your tray after you finished.
We ordered Chicken Plus today because we had Sulbing shaved ice many times before.
* Crispy Fried chicken $14.95: chicken takes a long time to fried, but the chicken was seasoned well and really crispy. The portion size also is reasonable. Do recommended to order ahead if you don't want to wait too long.
* Tteokbokki (Spicy Rose $15.95): aka Korean spicy rice cake. This dish came with a big bowl with a lot of sauce; however, it actually doesn't have much rice cake. The sauce is tasty but too bad there is not much of rice cake in it.
The interior is clean and new. They do not check for vaccine card for dine in customers and no service. Overall, food is good but I will not come back too soon since there are better choices nearby.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - May 20, 2022
This restaurant has both Chicken Plus and Sulbing attached to it. There is no table service and you order at the counter. We got the strawberry yogurt shaved ice and it was pretty good but the separate bowls they gave us were a bit dirty. I also wasn't a fan of when we ordered and the machine asks for a tip, they purposely covered option #3 which is "No Tip". The person helping us also was not very friendly. However I do have to give props that they are open until midnight with lots of seating which would be good for large groups. Overall, an okay experience.

No service, you order at the front and sit down food court style then get your own food. They aren't checking vaccine passports. The table smelled like dirty rags but other than that the restaurant seemed clean. The chicken was pretty good, we ordered plain crispy chicken and soy sauce chicken no sides at all though. Both the chicken dishes were good, and we also got a shaved ice which was good but very expensive at $15. Oh and they wouldn't even give us tap water, only bottled water.
We won't be coming back for the chicken but we may come back for the shaved ice.
Kn chicken a block away is way better but doesn't have shaved ice.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - JT C.Knight, Vancouver, Canada92261336Aug 9, 2022
Chicken plus? How about Chicken Minus! If I am correct; this location, the Coquitlam location and the newly opened location on Kingsway is the same owner or group. I decided to give this location a go and see what's it all about as I see highly praised fake reviews to not so good reviews from actual customers from the 3 different locations.
It's on the same plaza as Sushi On and as far as I know, this location used to be a few different restaurants before without success. When we walked in, there were a couple of tables with customers, no greetings from the counter person and she looked as if her dog just died. Very casual and everything is self served like a high school cafeteria. Finally ordered the following;
1. Green tea sul bing. The milky shaved ice was weak; tasted cheap and watered down, and 2 scoops of green tea ice cream and a sprinkle of green tea powder, almost like child's play for $18. Had way better ones.
2. Snowing cheese fried chicken. I fell in love with Korean fried chicken many many years ago because they sure know how to make them juicy, moist and flavourful. Well not these one here; dry and old. Failed!
3. Mango yogurt drink. Tasted okay, this was the only decent thing.
Overall, the reasons why it's a minus 5 stars if possible were because the food quality were pretty bad for its prices, absolutely no services, and kind of imposed its own must tip option upon payment, which is illegal for business to do in Canada. Yes I am calling this business and its other locations out on it for trying to undermine their customers with the such bad business practice. They don't accept cash, so when you trying to pay with your cards, etc..., on their machine, there are options for percentage of tips but they blocked the "no tip" option with black tape. A regular customer wouldn't know or see that option is covered by the black tape and will only see the percentage tipping options available and they will be almost forced to select the tipping options to proceed and finalized the payment. That is ILLEGAL! May I ask what is this business charging tips for when it is literally like a cafeteria, everything is self served!Helpful 3Thanks 2Love this 3Oh no 1
