We are licensed for all plumbing and water filtration with a C-36. Since we possess a C-36 full plumbing license, our installation services do not require a C-55 water conditioner license . California State License Board is an excellent resource… more

Two years since we installed our water softener. This time Fernando came around to service the filters. Arrived on time and was prompt with his work.

This company continues to amaze me. I moved from one apartment to another and wanted to continue with City Water Filter's service. Fernando came over to uninstall my RO filter at my old apartment and then reinstall it at my new one. He was punctual, kind, professional, and did an incredible job. Thank you Fernando!

He even arrived early, which was a bonus for me. I want to express my gratitude to Chris and the City Water Filter team for their outstanding customer service and for honoring their warranty. Thank you!

Always good service from City Water Filter. We only need to see them for our annual filter changes. Fernando was polite and helpful.

As a busy nonprofit organization we serve over a hundred meals per day. Several years ago we researched water filter companies and found City Water Filter. They installed the system, have been out for regular maintenance and we have been very satisfied with the level of service and communication.
Today was no exception. Fernando came out for annual maintenance. He arrived early, was friendly and helpful and was in and out in 45 minutes.
We would recommend the services of City Water FilterHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kavitha C.Rivermark of Santa Clara, Santa Clara, CA02Aug 24, 2023

Update: Have to reply quickly to Clay's response to my review. Here's the simple fact. If your installers are so incompetent they don't know what a drywall anchor is, why would anybody hire you? Second point. I know how to replace ALL my filters. There are endless instructions and Youtube videos online. Nothing on your website though, Clay!!! Why is that Clay?
DO NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE!!! STAY AWAY!!! To find out why, read on.
When these people did my initial install, the bracket for the whole house filter fell off the wall eventually. Why? They attached it to drywall. but not into the studs. They basically attached it to...yep, you guessed it...nothing. So I had them come out to remount the filter plate, and, guess what, they did the same thing again, only worse. What they should have done is used heavy duty drywall anchors if they couldn't find a stud. Instead they screwed into nothing both times. Take a look at the test holes they drilled (photo below). They made a complete freakin' mess of my wall and worse, they would not come out to fix their incompetent work.
CITY WATER FILTER'S BUSINESS MODEL
These people are interested in selling you a whole house filter system paired with an under sink system. All well and good, except what they're really after is the lifetime service fees. The last thing they want is for you to service your own system. They will tell you, "You're not trained to replace the filters." This is BS. Folks, a monkey could replace these filters. However, not even a trained monkey can replace a filter when the filter housing is screwed into nothing.
Please consider you have to replace multiple under sink filters and whole house filters a couple times a year and if you go with City Water Filter you will spend a crap load of money every year, hundreds of dollars in fact, having them replace the filters for you. So, you say: "Ok, I'll replace all the filters myself." I never wanted to pay their ridiculously overpriced filter replacement fees, so I serviced my own system, which is the BS reason they just gave me for refusing to come and fix their incompetent work. They literally told me, "because you do your own service", we can't help you. Don't fall for this...you have every right to replace your own filters and they have an obligation to assist you in any way they can. That's just good customer service.
Let's talk about their under sink RO system. First of all, their system is only complex because they intentionally set it up that way: nothing is labeled, so you have white tubes running everywhere. Once you figure out the jumble, you can replace the filters yourself, but it's still a pain for most people. So, compare the system they use to, as one example, an APEC under sink system with a reserve tank. APEC color codes everything, they have easy to follow instructions online, they have filters and parts available everywhere of the same or better quality than what City Water Filter uses. Try finding any instructions or getting any help from City Water Filter when it comes to replacing filters on your own. Again, their business model is all about lifetime service fees.
Oh and btw, have you heard of the Waterdrop under sink filter system? it's a tankless system. Tanks are a pain, you have to pressurize them, they take up too much space under your sink, forget them. I eventually replaced City Water Filter's under sink system with a Waterdrop system. You may need someone to help you with the initial install, but after that all you do is replace the filters when reminded by sliding the old filter out, and sliding the new filter in. All filters are available on Amazon. They have a UV option as well. This system is SO EASY....IT TAKES 2 seconds to replace a filter...better than anything City Water Filter can offer you.
The same holds true for their whole house salt tank system. I once had a simple clog in a hose that wasn't allowing a proper regen of the tank. City Water Filter told me I had to have a service call, replace the brine can, grease the tank control head and do all kinds of other useless stuff. I was suspicious and called support for the company that makes the control head They told me City Water Filter didn't know what they were talking about. They never heard of "greasing the control head" for example and why, they said, would you ever replace the brine can(basically a plastic garbage can you can buy anywhere) unless there's a hole in it? Clean it, maybe, but why replace it? A few simple troubleshooting steps on the phone and problem solved vs. City Water Filter once again trying to rip me off with an expensive service call.
Here's the moral of my story: CITY WATER FILTER IS A RIPOFF!!! The polite behavior when they first install the system is just to hook you in After that , you see their $$$$ game and how incompetent their work is. STAY AWAY.Helpful 6Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Dear Jessie Peters,
It is such a disheartening experience to read such a review after our family and crew work so hard to meet the high standards we set for ourselves and the water filter industry. We most wholeheartedly sent our crew out to help after Our records indicated we did an install in the year 2015 and our first contact for our servicing was 4 years later in 2019. We still sent our crew to your rescue. We are not sure what happened in the span of those four years to explain the troubles you began to have with our install as we were not called out to do your servicing. To our customers, if you self service your own system, you run the risk of damaging the install if you are replacing the filters inappropriately. Our records indicate that it has been three more years since our crew was called to help with the same issue of the system coming apart from the wall. Once again, to our customer base, when you do your own self service and continue to do so after one catastrophe, please contact us to come to your filter service. It is worth the nominal labor cost we charge to protect the integrity of your investment. Most Sincerely, Rosson Family of City Water - Bill C.San Jose, CA178158Dec 5, 2022
I had a water filter system installed at my house 2 years ago by City Water Filter. It's worked great. Today, they were out to do some maintenance work and to replace the PRV since my water pressure was too high. It was fixed quickly and they explained the work that was done.
I'm always impressed by how City Water Filter strives to find and fix problems. Everyone I've communicated with there has been professional and helpful. I highly recommend them!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Thien T.Santa Clara, CA118151Jun 17, 2023

Avoid at all costs! Dishonest people charging a lot more than initially quoted. Super rude owner who doesn't want to take feedback or provide details on work done and just asks you to get lost. You will find similar reviews below as well. I am sure you will get better companies for your water filter needs.

Once again, as you are the husband of Parita, you don't know what you are talking about and you don't have any priority to have clean water in your home as you think our services don't have any value. Why did you wait two years to change your filters since the system was installed? Your filters should be changed yearly. So not only is it not a priority to change your filters, but you also don't believe your drinking water is worth spending money. My services don't have value nor do you do the required maintenance. Now I get a double negative review for showing up this morning early and doing our job. I don't need customers like you. And yes, I told you to never call me again as you are yelling at me on the phone when you wife got home.
