WIRED IN SMOKE ALARMS
Just before we left for a summer holiday we had 2 of our smoke alarms going off- chirping every 30 seconds. So annoying, looking for the pamphlet from the remodel folder from 11 years ago, googling. Eventually we had to separate it from the ceiling. Then we had another two chirping we had to remove those as well. (I have the 10 year-wired in Kidde-smoke alarms with the lithium battery) And yet again we had one more chirping and we removed that one as well we thought all the other ones would not go off since these five seem to somehow be interconnected but we were wrong. Later in the morning after going to bed, around 2:30 AM our daughters let us know that three more units were chirping! (Yes, they are all interconnected!-activated at the same time, same die date)
We learned that night the chirping is "the end of life chirp"-battery is dying, unit-is dying, Done-zo! Must replace the units.
We were about to leave on a trip so we thought it was all squared away. That morning before we left we heard one last chirping in the basement going on and it made us realize of a location where we hadn't thought of the smoke alarm being but there's no way our cat sitter or cat would've tolerated that for the time we were going to be gone for, it is SO perfectly annoying. Luckily we removed them all before the trip.
We had disconnected all of the units from the ceiling, stabbed the battery hole to send it to final death and I had called the company to find out what the replacement would be. They don't make my square ones any longer. So I decided to deal with it when I got back to decide. When I ended up getting replacements and my local hardware store told me I could do the replacements myself I thought really? because it's dealing with electrical wires I really didn't want to take that on. I called Darren Divine Electric because I know I trust him and his company. He always has really competent people and I'm tired of the over charging questionable people I have hired to keep them in business and cheaper people to make it affordable but in the end you just really want someone reliable and dedicated like Divine Electric. He sent a very nice Irishman named Paul Kelly to our house and he saw that I already had all the parts and was ready to go and he convinced me I was right to have an electrician do it and I feel better about it as well. Even though I am the handy woman of the house, this was that thing that
1) I don't want to get it wrong
2) I don't want to risk getting electrocuted
What a nice guy, so friendly, respectful about distance, wearing booties and a mask and walking through the house and scope of work. He then informed me of certain laws about smoke and Carbon units etc.and I learned a lot. I cannot express enough how invaluable a company you trust working on your home is. We talked a little about other things i was wondering about and he was able to explain and address future issues i might do with my lighting.
Anyways, a friendly, reliable & smart electrician swapped out all my old frames, units and tested the wires etc before just replacing. Fire season is here and my units lasted 11 years but if you are wired in-like me-you might want to call them out to update your hard wired units when the 10 year mark comes- cause the dying of the units was a terrible 24 hour experience AND we were almost on vacation, just cant imagine how that would have been remedied from afar! I am now set till 2031.
PS they are building out a plumbing section to their reliable good name, good move!Helpful 15Thanks 0Love this 12Oh no 0 - Michael H.Fairfax, CA04Jan 28, 2024
We had a can light out and attic fan that was also out, and they came and overcharged us. 400+ dollars to fix the light wire (tighten it), and over 300 to look at the attic fan. I ended up buying one for 90 dollars on amazon and replacing it myself. I will not use them again, but at least the light is working again.

Divine exceeded my expectations. They installed a new water heater and water recirculating system in my home this week.
The estimator, Jeff, was a pleasure to work with.
The crew was friendly, professional and efficient. The owner checked in with me to assure that everything was done to my satisfaction. It was.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Justine F.CA, CA043Jan 17, 2024
Divine Electric may be ok for small projects but they have been a total nightmare for our PGE upgrade. I chose them for their reputation and good reviews and have been so disappointed. Everything you can imagine has gone wrong, we have failed multiple inspections because they "forgot" to do what was needed, we had a 6ft open trench through our front yard for nearly 5 months. I've had to get on the phone with PGE myself several times because Divine are so ineffectual. We are now in our 3rd calendar year of this pretty straightforward upgrade and we failed another inspection with no sign of when this nightmare might actually finish. They may be ok if you have a small project but if you have something bigger that requires follow through forget it, choose someone else. I wish we had.

Justine, you are in good hands. Thank you for letting us know about your experience. Your project is a priority & we do plan to follow up with PG&E more aggressively to keep your project moving along. I do plan to have a manager on site the final day of the work as well. Thank you again for being transparent & look forward to pushing this through to completion. Should you have any further concerns or questions, I’m happy to be a resource.

We have had a great experience with Divine. Most recently, Juan and Estalin came by to install a level 2 EV charger and re-install a chandelier. They were professional, communicative, and respectful. I'm not sure Divine is the cheapest alternative out there, however their staff are high-quality and get the job done with no drama.

Plumbing: We had to go through a re-pipe of our house from old galvanized to copper... Sean and Victor were great, communicating the whole time and coming up with solutions on difficult aspects of the job instead of just doing what was easiest and cutting unnecessary drywall etc. furthermore instead of doing the bare minimum they came up with creative solutions to make the piping just more efficient throughout the house and solving a lot of the problems we had before. Recommend this crew!
Electrical: we had some outlets that weren't working in our master bathroom, the wiring was off and Paul Kelly troubleshooted it like a true professional going through every possible option and ultimately coming up with a creative solution, great job all around.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - La B.Santa Rosa, CA05Jan 5, 2024
Juan and Luisito installed a new electric panel and Tesla charger yesterday they were professional and efficient and friendly. Paul from Divine handled our original quote he was so patient with me and my many questions he walked me through everything we needed to do to install new safe electric panels in our home. Divine handled everything, PGE, inspectors, permits. They set up a generator for me while our PGE was shut off. Candace in the office was a delight to work with, she also handled so much of our scheduling, responded promptly to emails and phone calls. I have recommended Divine to 3 neighbors since working with them and will continue to use them in the future!

Alvaro and Herb were fantastic! The electric panels and wiring in my house were a nightmare and they were able to figure it out. Alvaro explained details and was open to my questions and concerns and didn't leave until I was happy with the work. Nothing was up to code and was not divulged when I bought this house years ago. I wonder how the inspector did not catch the problems? It's a miracle there wasn't a fire! Even the 2 estimators were so great with helping me figure out details with a full house upgrade. I will have Divine Electric back in near future for more improvements.

We needed an outlet installed in our newly purchased home. Divine Electric sent out their technician Jae
and he did exceptional work! He went above and beyond and was very respectful to our home. If we need any work done in the future we will use Divine Electronic and see if we can request Jae again.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
