Finn's Seafood Chops Cocktails

Had a solid dining experience here. I felt a bit dressed down but they were real cool getting me a window table, by the bar. It was a bit dark inside, but the decor looked pretty cool. Had garlic flatbread and ate that with the seafood linguine. It was very good. A bit pricey but tasty. A very good dinner option at the bottom of Bastiob Square.

We stopped here on a whim for a late lunch and a drink on the patio. Tons of shaded seating and service was super friendly and quick. We were floored by the quality of the food. We didn't expect it but the fish and chips were perfect and a large portion. The house made tartar sauce was so good; I only wish I had ordered more of it! We also ordered the Earthy salad to share which was so flavourful, hearty, and fresh. 10/10 highly recommend stopping here if you are at the Victoria waterfront.

In Victoria for a couple of nights on business and staying downtown, we walked to Finn's after reading mainly good reviews. Overall it rated a four stars, but was not without a couple of things that did not warrant a five, and maybe should have been a 3.8.

The place is quite dark, which isn't our favourite. With the lovely K's eyes not the best she had to use her phone flashlight to read the menu. My white rockfish was very good, matching nicely with the risotto and creating a nice dish. The pieces of fish were a little on the small side, but I didn't leave hungry.

The lovely K got the fish and chips which came with coleslaw and fries. The coleslaw was excellent, better than most we can recall. Very fresh and crunchy and lightly dressed. The fries were also very good, but the fish kind of let the dish down a little bit. Half of the piece of fish was very well battered and cooked, but the other half had a ton of batter on it and not a lot of fish. The result was kind of a sloppy half with batter that was not done or crisp.

Our server was as very good which helped us to give the 4 out of 5. The interior decor is very cool as the building has obviously worn many hats. If those walls could talk it would be an interesting story for sure.

Our server, Devon was excellent. Made a few recommendations that were fabulous.
We had a few of their specialty appetizers that we all really enjoyed.

Set against the beautiful backdrop of the harbor, the sunset only added to the overall ambience of the restaurant.

Our server, Paris, was friendly and enthusiastically gave her honest suggestions to help navigate both the dinner and drink menus.

The Fresh shellfish bowl was quite the standout. The description in the menu made it very appealing, but in no way described how much we would enjoy it.

The grilled octopus is a must have. Any time we encounter this type of dish, we always try it and Finn's definitely ranks high in this item.

Not only is this a must stop when you find yourself in Victoria, it is also a must return.

Very good food, we loved their cocktails, too. The patio is not that great. Very tight and not inviting. Inside is much nicer, multiple rooms with different decor. Friendly and attentive service. Would recommend.

Amazing views and delicious seafood. Came on Saturday night for dinner.

Following prices in CAD:

Rockfish Croquettes ($16) - I was slightly underwhelmed by the flavor of these but they were nicely fried.

Truffle Fries ($13.75) - I was not expecting these to be THAT good! The fries are perfectly crispy and warm and the truffle aioli is amazing.

Fish & Chips ($26) - Great portions, perfectly fried.

Chicken & Gnocchi ($34) - I tried a bite of this and liked it. The balsamic glaze was a lot like BBQ sauce.

Shrimp Tacos ($16.75 + 2.75 for Guacamole) - Excellent!

Staff is super accommodating and friendly. They were able to move us to an outdoor patio table upon request :)

Can any locals tell me if this is tourist restaurant? The fantastic location on the harbor front, excellent service, great food, romantic bay view lower deck facing the water, and reasonable prices(especially compared to Seattle!) made for awesome "holidate" with the wife.

$16CAD/$12USD House Smoked Rockfish Croquettes...local rockfish blended with potatoes, garlic, lemon and chives in a crispy hot panko crust, yum!

$34CAD/$25USD Pan Roasted Local Rockfish...3 fresh fillets, seared perfectly with a light crunch to each, while keeping the fish moist and tender, yum! The accompanying pesto risotto was delicious!

$26CAD/$20USD Poke Bowl...a generous serving of fresh ahi tuna in a spicy dressing with all supporting healthy fresh veggies and ginger quinoa, yum! Warning! They really do mean "spicy"!

$11CAD/$USD...add 5 grilled shrimp, butter and garlicky, yum!

$12CAD/$9USD Lemon Tart...big enough for two, and tasty with the toasted merinque.

While Finn's look, feel, and location feels like a tourist, and it very well may be, it is so worth it!

Great place right next to the water. Reservations are taken for inside dining only; outside deck (great views) is on a first come-first serve basis. The pork and prawn dim sum tasted like they came from an authentic Chinese restaurant. The seafood linguini and the crispy sablefish were fantastic. Highly recommend for good seafood and drinks along the waterfront
