Hosted a Bridal Shower here and it was wonderful. The space is beautiful and the staff is very friendly and helpful. There are so many areas and walls in the space to add decor and make the space feel more personal. Food was great and also accommodating to diet restrictions like GF and V.

Hosted a 90-person private event here recently and had a great experience. The events team was really flexible and patient with my many requests in the couple weeks before the event, and always responded quickly. They also crafted a customized menu to accommodate for specialized diet needs in the attendee group. I requested slightly elaborate place settings with favors and the staff set it up beautifully. The food was very good and the mixed drinks were strong. When I accidentally dropped all my tented place cards and they fell out of table order within seconds of the event starting, the team helped me gather and re-order them so that we could get attendees in as quickly as possible.

The private event space is in a basement (which is common in NYC) so there are no windows... but there's a lovely green living plant wall which is a nice touch. We needed a microphone for speeches and it kept cutting out, but they worked to fix it quickly. The open wifi wouldn't connect, so I wasn't able to stream my playlist... though the restaurant's music was just fine in the end! The space holds about 100 people, but I think 80 would be the ideal number.

Overall it was a pleasure to plan this event with the Gran Morsi team and I'd definitely consider bringing another group back here. The event team was honestly awesome.

I made a reservation here for a larger group of friends on a Friday evening. We were seated as soon as we arrived and started looking over the menu. They have a nice mix of wine, beer, and cocktails. I went with a montepulciano, but my friends ordered a few of the cocktails and enjoyed them. We shared a few appetizers, namely the Fritto Misto, Artichokes alla Romana, Focaccia di Recco, and Eggplant & Zucchini. For an entrée, I went with the Forest Mushroom pizza. Overall, the food was good. The flatbread was just ok for me, but otherwise I really enjoyed all the other items. I also could've used a few less scallions on my pizza, but I enjoyed the flavors aside from that. Portion sizes were also ample.

Service was good. Our waitress was attentive and gave us some good recommendations for appetizers. She and other also came over to check-in, but never made us feel rushed. Ambiance is really great as well. I loved the way the space was decorated. It's not a large room, but it still felt very open and inviting.

Overall, I highly recommend Gran Morsi. Though it's location may not be the most convenient for everyone, the food and experience made for a really fun evening!

My good friends and I decided to stop by here for restaurant week. We made a reservation in advance - which was around 6 pm on a Tuesday. It was fairly quiet when we first came in but it eventually gets pretty busy and packed as the night went on. The place itself has a pretty romantic vibe with dim lighting and extremely nice decor.

For appetizers - majority of us went with the Polpette meatballs which was super tasty - it was three meatballs and they were mixed with meat and cheese with extra cheese on top. One of us went with the Caesar salad - which was a surprisingly hefty salad (it was made majority with kale rather than your typical lettuce for caesar salad) but it was pretty tasty as well. For the main dish we all decided to get the Pappardelle pasta which was pretty tasty but we found that it seemed a bit inconsistent in the plating; one of our friends dish had almost no sauce and some of us had a significant amount of sauce but other than that the flavors in the sauce and the short rib was amazing. The pasta itself was pretty good as well but we wished it soaked up more flavor from the sauce but otherwise it was a good portion size and we were very full after it. For dessert - majority of us went with the Tiramisu which was amazing; the flavors went so well together and it was not super strong of alcohol taste.

Overall - nice romantic vibes and would definitely recommend coming here for a date night spot.

Went here for a restaurant week dinner with friends. We were seated quickly after they checked our vaccination cards. I got the polpette as the first course, half chicken as the second and chocolate budino as the final course. My friend got the ceasar salad, branzino and tiramisu. The chicken was a little less seasoned than what I prefer. The other dishes were pretty good. The servers were very attentive. We also got a couple glasses of wine which were great too. The restaurant is on a pricier side for their offering.

Such a great dinner at Gran Morsi tonight!

We made reservations for a very early Sunday dinner and were the only party seated outside for most of our meal. Service was super attentive and our waiter provided some great recommendations.

For apps, we ordered the octopus, the eggplant, and the burrata. Everything was delicious but i was especially surprised by how yummy the eggplant was. For my main, I ordered the ricotta gnocchi and it was SO good. I love gnocchi but this was a very different preparation from what I've ever had before - goat cheese and sweet peppers on some of the softest gnocchi I've ever had. Absolutely delicious! I tried some of the pappardelle and would definitely recommend that.

For dessert, I ordered the cinnamon gelato and it was honestly some of the best flavored gelato I've ever had. Also worth mentioning the ricotta cheesecake which had a creme brûlée hardened top.

This was a great find in FiDi! We booked a reservation the night before the NY Marathon as a nice carb load dinner and definitely we're not disappointed. The weather was fairly mild that weekend, so we booked a table outside. Their outdoor seating is really intimate and surprisingly quiet despite being right on the street. I could see it being comfortable even in cooler weather as they had ample heating lamps set out. Food wise, we started with the burrata, which was simply delicious. I didn't even snag a photo of it because it was that good. The crostini served alongside was perfect. For our mains, I ordered the tagliatelle alla ragù, which was a lot more pasta than it initially appeared. SO good. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the meal itself very filling. Not pictured: my husband ordered a ravioli with pistachio that was named a special for the evening. I had a bite and I truly can't put into words how good it was. The pistachio sauce was delicate and incredibly flavorful. Had I not been running the next day, I would've loved a plate for myself! The prices were up there, but no more than anywhere else in the city, in my opinion. Service here was top notch. We were never without full glasses of our beverages, our food came out in a timely manner, and everyone we interacted with was pleasant and accommodating. I'd definitely come back, especially for a date night. I'd love to try some of their wine selection as it looked fairly extensive! Definitely don't overlook this spot!

They have a nice private space downstairs with a private bar. I really enjoyed the il Gardiano cocktail, perfectly prepared. The penne a la vodka was delicious with a wonderful amount of fresh basil.

Two and a half stars. Unfortunately being Italian I have high hopes for good simple Italian cuisine, especially from
      New York City.
We ordered a few appetizers consisting of fried calamari and arancini. Then we moved on to chicken Marsala and fettuccine bolognesi.
My honest opinion is that the appetizers were far better than the actual meal itself. The calamari were tender and fried well without a lot of batter. The arancini were pretty tasty just maybe a little bit too mushy but still tasty.
Unfortunately that leaves me to the fettuccine which were under cooked. The bolognese was delicious but if you cannot cook your freshly cooked pasta your entire hard work for that dish goes down the tube. The pasta was so underdone and sticking to the rest of the noodles and having pieces of hardness within each bite. I just ate half then wasn't able to continue.
The chicken Marsala was nothing of what I expected. The chicken can 0 salt and flavor and there wasn't that Marsala taste. Pretty bad and fortunately the person was hungry to eat it.
They don't have sides so we ordered mushrooms and potatoes which were better than the meal itself.
No dessert was ordered after that because the price is high for what you get and didn't want to make a mistake with dessert.
I think next time, a drink and appetizers for sure and/or sides as a main meal!!
