We love to visit the farm to pick up a CSA box from time to time. Not only do the boxes have amazing fruits and vegetables, but the staff is wonderful, and my daughter (toddler) learns so much during every visit, whether she is picking strawberries or flowers (depending on the season so we talk about where food comes from and how to grow it), or jumping on the hay bales in the kids area. A quick drive down the coast means high quality produce and a tired toddler that regularly asks to return.

Greenhearts Family Farm is the best! We love the CSA box and get eggs added to the delivery every two weeks. We also love visiting the farm, just a short drive down the coast from SF. Highlights are the UPick flower days and the all you can pick tomato days. There's nothing better than seeing where your produce is grown and the care that goes into growing it.

Greenhearts is the best CSA, hands down! Each week, they deliver (to your door) an overflowing box of anything and everything that's currently in season. Each week we look forward to seeing what's going to be on our menu for the week.
We've been subscribers since the end of 2019 (just before the pandemic) and let me tell you, it has been a godsend. The most amazing selection of fresh produce, all locally sourced, without having to go shopping.
Included in each week's box is the most thoughtful note from Farmer Paul that always includes a list of everything in your delivery and often includes recipe suggestions. Paul also spends a bit of time letting you know whatever's on his mind (including great stories) as well as letting us know what's happening in his world. It's truly a highlight of my week to get a glimpse into what makes Greenhearts tick. They partner with some of the most well respected farms in the area and for us, it's really cool to know where each item comes from.
The fresh produce is just on a different level than what you would get in your local supermarket and, as others have said, everything seems to have a great shelf life (in the fridge).
Bonus points for the non-standard items I'd be scared to buy on my own, but now magically have in front of me: persimmons, celery root, kohlrabi, rutabaga, pomegranate, the list goes on and on.
When they let you know the items in each week's box (a few days prior to delivery) you also have the option to add additional items from their partners. We've tried a few (apple cider, kombucha and the most flavorful whole chickens we've ever roasted!) and we always get half a dozen pasture raised eggs each week.
Can't thank them enough for their hard work making sure we're taken care of. Their delivery person is always super friendly and super cautious in this new COVID world - masks, gloves, everything.
Thanks, Farmer Paul and Aurora and the whole team. Hope you have a wonderful holiday break and we're already looking forward to our first box in 2021.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Aaron M.El Cerrito, CA1848508943Oct 17, 2020
Oh my gosh, I can't believe it, in the middle of a pandemic I'm finally signed up with weekly delivery of the perfect CSA Box. I've been looking for this for 12 years.
12 years ago is when I first researched and signed up with my very first Community Supported Agriculture. They were *almost* perfect.
I felt almost exactly like I do now with Greenhearts:
For the last month, I've had the BEST and sweetest locally grown ripe produce, boxed up in planet-friendly packaging, along with touching and connection-making communication from the farmers, including suggestions for new recipes or food pairings to try.
I *love* being able to support our local farmers, especially in such challenging times. When the skies can turn dark with ash, the record heat-waves keep breaking new records, and a virus has us all wearing masks, it makes me a little bit happier every single week to be able to contribute directly to some of the farmers here in California, facing such struggles. The bounty I receive in return makes the weekly cycle a double-win.
I *love* the puzzle of receiving items that I might not have chosen myself and finding new recipes to make new things to taste.
I *love* getting fruit and veggies that were picked locally, when ripe, and delivered so fresh it tastes as good as from my mother's garden.
Here's the one thing Greenhearts does that seals the deal. They deliver the box. Every week. Right to my doorstep. (!!)
When I joined that CSA for the first time 12 years ago, it was paradise, but they didn't deliver. Every week we had to drive 3 minutes up into the hills, walk down a driveway, sort through the stack to find our box from behind a neighbor's gate, and then drive 3-minutes back down the hill again, and after 52 weeks of that weekly drive, we decided that we'd rather walk to our local Farmer's Markets and pick out our own produce, and we broke up with our first CSA.
And ever since then, I've been joining and subsequently ditching various CSAs that offered home delivery, always reverting back to a combo of farmers' markets and local grocery stores.
I've tried several more CSAs over the years, and none of them were anywhere close to the quality I got from our very first CSA (shout out to GoldenBell@ Terra Firma farms, my first love). No other CSA ever came close. Until now.
I feel incredibly blessed to share in the bounty from Greenhearts Family Farm. Doubly-so in the middle of a shelter-in-place pandemic. I couldn't be happier about all the wonderful fruit and vegetables my family has been eating this month.
Thank you Greenhearts!!Helpful 15Thanks 1Love this 12Oh no 0 - Mike S.Modesto, CA042Jul 25, 2022
Can't say enough great things about Greenhearts Family Farm! Farmer Paul and his fine crew (not a 'jerk' among them) deliver fresh, wholesome, delicious fruits and vegetables all over the Bay Area each week
Having deep roots in California's inland empire area, Paul can personally "curate" the weekly distribution boxes; which often feature the finest sustainably raised produce, eggs, kombucha, honey, and even occasionally poultry. (Along with a witty, informative explanation page which describes the box contents, Cracker Barrel farm wisdom, and more).
SO! The serious takeaway (in an age of looming food insecurity) is that having a guaranteed weekly drop off of delicious, life-sustaining food... is a virtual "insurance policyagainst "being super hungry" when you'd rather not be.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sep 8, 2018
My experience with this farm is very minimal but already left a great imprint and loved it so much that I am considering joining their CSA program. Today I dragged my boyfriend with me (after all he took someone needed to take these wonderful 'among the flowers' pics:) to have one of those cool experiences 'pick all the flowers you can get in a bucket' for only $10/bucket. Amazing deal and I have to say I was pretty good at pressing the flowers so I could fit tons of different colors, sizes and types.
2 buckets of flowers are now adorning 6 vases at home!
I saw one of those Facebook events mentioning the Greehearts farm and the possibility of not only picking flowers, but also heirloom tomatoes and beans.
I got obsessed with the flowers, and expecting a foggy day (blame my Alexa:) I was happily surprised with a sunny, magical and shiny day with some sea breezy coming our way. We got easy parking, free (even though there were many other cars there, you don't feel like in one of those cramped pumpkin patches where you have to fight for a spot in the field...in there you could go as further as you wanted that flowers never seemed to end, and perfect place for cute family pictures.
You will be surrounded by bees, butterflies and beauty. Plus the people managing the whole thing were super nice to us (and everybody), very welcoming. This was my first experience and I hope not the last one. Flowers make me happy and this place fulfilled my need for beauty and nature.Helpful 9Thanks 1Love this 6Oh no 0 - Audrey G.Palo Alto, CA05Apr 22, 2023

Been feeding my family thanks to Paul for nearly 5 years and love them. My kids will often select Greenhearts produce on their plate as opposed to the carb and meat options in front of them. Always look forward to Paul's notes in the hand picked boxes as well. So grateful for Greenhearts, they truly feel like family.

If you're interested in eating more local, fresh, and organic produce, I'd highly recommend Greenhearts Family Farm Subscription Box. Their main farm is in Half Moon Bay - you can see their sign while driving on US 1. Their subscription box is only $40/week with 6-8lbs of seasonal fresh fruits and vegetables, wrapped in mostly sustainable packaging. They always come with some staples as well as some unique produce for you to try out.
This box pictured here has Honey Tangerines, Navel Oranges, Nantes Carrots, Savoy Cabbage, Garnet Yams, Bloomsdale Spinach, Broccoli, Red Swiss Chard, Shallots and Celery.
In the box, Farmer Paul always includes some thoughtful notes about what's going on in the farm. He mentioned that if we can get more neighbors on the subscription, we all take part in reducing carbon footprint associated with delivery vans.
I personally enjoy their produce and service and hope you'll give it a try to support our local farmers and be more sustainable.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Maureen M.Sarasota, FL0311Mar 4, 2023
