Keep Cool NYC

I hired these guys to install a new air conditioner in my mom's kitchen. They were very helpful, answering a lot of questions by email over a couple of weeks before the job. The night before the installation, at 10 PM, my mom told me they needed an insurance certificate and indemnification agreement. Even though the installation was the next day at 10 AM, they managed to get the paperwork done and didn't have to delay the install. The job itself was done very well, without a mess, and on time.

I will definitely hire them again, next month, to do another air conditioner in my mom's apartment. If you need an installation done, you should hire them too.

100/10, would recommend!!

I've booked KeepCool three times now, and they've been phenomenal each time!

July 2021:
installed a Midea U 12000 BTU window air conditioner into my living room. installation/bracket seemed complicated but they did an awesome job

August 2022:
my bedroom's AC died, so had their services to move that Midea U from the living room to the bedroom.

August 2022 again:
installed an LG Dual Inverter 14000 BTU into the living room as a replacement and upgrade. got the privacy plexiglass that they offer, instead of the accordion panels that the AC came with. looks really great!

10/10 booking: David is always extremely responsive and helpful, couldn't ask for anything more.
10/10 service: the technicians (this August both times the technician was Sean) super informative, explained everything, gave tips and advice on cooling and maintenance and even keeping insulation/air gaps sealed.
10/10 no issues afterwards!

since any of the service calls, installations have been rock solid, no gaps in insulation/to the outside, ACs have been stable and without any issues whatsoever.

Could not recommend KeepCool any higher!

Huge thanks to Joel who did the installation of my daughter's window air conditioner unit! Joel was friendly and very efficient. Additionally, Joel was VERY good at communicating with me his arrival time and description of the job. He was super easy to reach via his cell phone. I highly recommend Keep Cool NYC for all window A/C installation needs. :-) Also, great job by Maria who helped schedule the installation.

Joel came by to install a window unit and was great! Friendly, helpful, and accommodating. $85 to move my bracket and install the ac, done in less than 20 minutes. Will definitely hire again to install other units.

Update: Had Eric come by to do our living room AC! Another great install and very friendly.

Getting an AC installed in the midst of June when it's starting to get hot is a stressful feat and Keep Cool NYC really made it seamless for me. They were very responsive via email and sent over the documents I needed to provide my leasing office in a very efficient and accurate manner. They even were able to schedule my installation for the following day which worked perfectly for me! The technician, Sean, arrived right on time and was incredibly kind and helpful. He did the job in less than an hour and even provided helpful tips for maintaining the unit and other pointees I found very useful. I never felt like he was rushing the process and he did a beautiful job. Very happy with the result and the price! Thank you all

Yes you have to provide a lot of information up front, to get a quote, but I had a great experience with Keep Cool NYC. They were familiar with the "new technology" Midea U-shaped A/C I had bought, and were already familiar with my building's requirements.

The technician came later than the 3-hour arrival window we had agreed, but he called me first to ensure the timing would still work. Joel was very pleasant and, after he was done, cleaned up the area around the installation. He even took care to show me how to take the filter out and clean it. I am happy with the installation.

Keep Cool is so professional and knowledgeable.
Don't waste your time trying to find a better deal--I did originally and wound up hiring Keep Cool to fix another handyman's botched install. Hire Keep Cool from the get-go, they know what they are doing, their prices are fair, and they will get the job done quickly and correctly. Dave, the owner, responded quickly even thought it was late on a Friday. By Monday, I had a confirmed appointment with a technician for an installation on Tuesday afternoon -- all during a heat wave. The technician did a great job at a reasonable price and Dave was extremely professional and helpful in supplying me with the insurance documentation that I needed for my building.

All in all, a great experience and I would definitely work with Dave and his team again.

I don't understand all the 5-star reviews saying fast response. I think Dave Messina is the owner and I have been emailing/calling him for the past month (since Aug 23) trying to get my AC replaced. He takes 5-6 days to respond to emails, and would not provide a COI in advance (my building requires pre-authorization) even when explicitly asked. I asked him on Monday to please send the COI by the end of the week. No response, and when I followed up next Monday (for work to be done on Wednesday), they told me they usually provide the COI the day before work. Don't most buildings that require COIs need approval at least a day in advance? How can you be confident that you sent the right format? It's been an extremely frustrating, one-sided process and I obviously have pursued someone else to do the work.

Edited to add: Dave finally emailed me after leaving this review, and left a comment below! By the time he got back to me on Monday saying "we will send the COI tomorrow for work to be done the next day", I was pretty fed up with having to wait for his responses. For reference, I first contacted him on Aug 23 and it took until Sept 12 (almost 4 weeks later) to get the appointment scheduled. I emailed him then on Sept 12 saying please send COI by Sept 16 so I can make sure to let the building know. No responses for a full week until I followed up on Sept 19. This was preceded by me emailing multiple times, waiting 2-3 days for a response, then sending a follow-up email to try to get an appointment (which would then be met with another single question, which I would answer to try to schedule the appointment, etc). It may have been a uniquely frustrating experience for me. I'm sure the technicians do great work, but it is exhausting to have to chase down someone for a month for a simple appointment.

I submitted a form over a holiday weekend and still had a super fast reply via email. They were prompt at replying and seeing up the appointment. Joel installed the AC unit with plexiglass, and was courteous and quick. He did a great job, and I am very happy with the results.
