This use to be one of my favorite sit down brunch spots. No where on your website or yelp tells YOUR CUSTOMERS, that you are closed for sit down dinning. Gas ain't cheap, it would be nice if you update your remaining customers on what's going on. I hate take out, everything gets soggy by the time I'm home since we don't live in Alameda. Like you guys can't even update your instagram, letting us know what's going on. Your food does not taste good to-go. Lumpia's and fried chicken/waffle don't taste the same when you box it and let it sweat. Could you please just let people know when you'll open up, I feel like it's not difficult to do.

If you only open for take out only, you should post on Yelp and let people know! It sucks after driving so far and then realize that no place to dine in!

My husband really wanted me to give this spot 2 stars, but my meal wasn't as bad as his, so I'll give this spot the benefit of the doubt.
A few things: this place is popular, so do expect a line.
I don't know if this is typical, but from sitting down to when we got our food, it was close to 50 minutes and we ordered 1 omelette and a vegetable dish.
Our waitress wasn't that friendly, didn't refill our coffee, and kind of wasn't around much.
The food: we saw some people's plates and we were so friggin' jazzed. Mounds of delicious food that looked ready to be devoured. Then our food came, and it was sad. The greens and beans was more like a soup, with sad wilty vegetables in a broth, and nothing my husband expected for breakfast. He ultimately said it was super flavorless and at $17-$18 a huge rip off. My omelette was good. Nothing ridiculous, as it should have been full of bacon, but was more full of mushrooms. But overall, the eggs were more of a solid meal with a half of an avocado and delicious buttery bread and fried potatoes.
The place is super cute, although inside when crowded, it is real loud. I dug the ambiance outdoors and the menu looks amazing. I also want to stress, we saw 10 plates go by that all looked like a ton of food and amazing; not sure if they were just in a super hurry with ours, but it fell flat.
I wouldn't come again. I'm not often on Alameda and I like to try new spots, but I'm sure if you're close by, this is probably a great option for brunch. Not cheap, but hopefully you know what to order, making it worthwhile. :: Be prepared for a leisurely time, as this is not an in and out type place.::Helpful 41Thanks 0Love this 20Oh no 0 - May 19, 2019
My friend choose this place for brunch so it is purely her fault for my review.
I enjoyed the great customer service with a smile from the lovely hostesses and servers plus the food was deliciously prepared.
It was a typical wait of around 40ish minutes on a Sunday before we got seated. We were hungry when we got there so by time we were seated and food came, we just dug right in...no talking, just eating and chewing and all those other mouth things...
Both our egg benedicts were perfectly seasoned and hollandaise sauce was yum, although I felt the yolks didn't feel runny enough for that poached cooking feeling. Everything tasted great though, so it wasn't a biggie for me. We also enjoyed the pieces of sweet yam mixed in on the side. I thought the lumpia was seasoned well but it may be salty for some other folks.
We ended the meal with the affogoto dessert and we both enjoyed the mixed bitterness and sweetness of vanilla ice cream and espresso coming together. It kind of reminded me of tiramisu, which started the whole hunt for more dessert after...
I'll be back againHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 16, 2019
Reliably good! We always have excellent service, and consistently fresh and delicious food. Most items come with breakfast potatoes AND a small salad... sounds like a lot but it ends up being the absolute perfect amount. I have enjoyed the scramble, hubby digs the Benedicts, I have also been known to dive headfirst into a hot bowl of cheddar cheese and shrimp grits... be still my heart! Best possible revamp of a beloved Fosters Freeze, the decor is *perfectly* alameda with a maritime/retro edge.
Pro tip: don't miss the comfy and lovely patio seating out back on sunny days!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 47147402Jun 9, 2018
I went to Neptune's today for the first time with a good friend. I got a Bloody Mary ($9) to drink and the Greens and Beans plate ($14). This seemed to be the one of the only vegan items on their breakfast menu besides the side of fruit. This was okay with me since this entree ended up being very delicious.
If you are vegan or vegetarian and want a Bloody Mary ask for no bacon!! Even though it's not listed in the description it comes with it! Wish I would have asked for it on the side so my friend didn't have to order a side of bacon with her meal!
I was pleased with everything else and may go back another time!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 1 - Oct 13, 2021
Stopped by on a whim, and so glad I did! They are Take Out only! But I ordered the Breakfast Bacon Burrito with tater tots combo! Delicious! The gentleman at the window was Super nice as well! I will definitely be back!

The service is a 4/5. The food is 1/5. So thus, I'm forced to leave 3 stars.
We ordered the fried chicken, avocado toast, breakfast burrito, and the chilaquiles.
They all lacked flavor and the special taste each one should have.
The avocado toast was absolutely horrid, I have to spit it out. It was like avocado mixed with matcha powder - I like both ingredients, but not together!
The breakfast burrito was extremely bland and the ingredients didn't mix well together. The fried chicken was probably the better out of the rest, but still, not the flavor of fried chicken you'd expect.
The service however was great. I called the order in ahead of time and picked it up effortlessly.
Unfortunately I will not return because it wasn't as inexpensive as other breakfast spots. My total was ~70.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 28, 2017
This is a tough review for me. I mean, this was the closest breakfast place from my apartment. It was new, clean, and nicely appointed. it even had its own parking lot. But, due to my work schedule, I only had the chance to make it here once. And after the visit, being motivated to come back on the regular just seemed out of the question.
I came here randomly one morning and I was greeted and seated. There was a nice little crowd of locals- I could tell they were all decently educated- as the subjects they spoke of were way above my pay grade.
I got the menu, and I just looked at it- a lot of decent looking things, but I decided to try stuff I was not accustomed to- like savory waffles, some toast, and some home fries. I could tell though that the prices here are not cheap- you would almost be better off just sticking to water or bringing your own tea/coffee- as it would compare to a Starbucks in Grand Central Station price wise. I mean, the waffles them selves were over $12, and that didn't include any of the "upgrades" you could get with it. And that was just the waffle.
The food came out quickly. The toast was decent- pretty thick. The jam and cheese it came with were a nice complement- but I wish it came with a little more due to its thickness. The waffle was an interesting complement as well- as the tomatoes were actually alright! But, again, I could have used a little more to complement the waffle, as it seemed almost dry. The latke was just overdone, as its crunchiness was borderline overkill and dry. It did leave me thirsty though- I should have asked for a pitcher of water.
The service was great, the food was decent, the atmosphere pushing bougie, and the prices were over the top. I mean, if I had the money to eat here more often I may come here once a week just to try everything, but unfortunately, I don't. I have to give it 3.5 stars.Helpful 9Thanks 0Love this 8Oh no 0 - Rose F.Oakland, CA70191Apr 28, 2023
